    Friends, Romans, Koremen, lend me your ears;
    I come to bury the end user, not to praise him.
    The evil that men do lives after them;
    The good is oft interred with their bones;
    So let it be with the end user. The noble NI team
    Hath told you the end user was ambitious:
    If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
    And grievously hath the end user paid for it.
    Here, under leave of the NI team and the rest -
    For the NI team are honourable men;
    So are they all, all honourable men -
    Come I to speak in the end user's funeral.
    They were my friends, faithful and just to me:
    But the NI team says they were ambitious;
    And the NI team are honourable men.
    The end user hath brought many dollars home to Rome
    Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill:
    Did this in the end user seem ambitious?
    When that the poor have cried, the end user hath wept:
    Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
    Yet the NI team says they were ambitious;
    And the NI team are honourable men.
    You all did see that on the Lupercal
    I thrice presented the end user a kingly crown,
    Which they did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
    Yet the NI team says they were ambitious;
    And, sure, the NI team are honourable men.
    I speak not to disprove what NI team spoke,
    But here I am to speak what I do know.
    You all did love Kore 1.1 once, not without cause:
    What cause withholds you then, to mourn for it?
    O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
    And men have lost their reason. Bear with me;
    My heart is in the coffin there with the end user,
    And I must pause till it come back to me.

    Kore 2?

    E tu Brutus?

    Um, this is all completely over my head ... but can Kore 1 owners have Kore 2 software for free please, NI. Otherwise this Kore 1 owner at least will throw a big tantrum.

    Damn!! That's some really good s**t!! Culture abounds!! So much for the idea that VI users are a bunch of illiterate crack-heads that only respond to 120db "foomp.....foomp, foomp" as they cruise the highways and by-ways.
    I'm with Andy - this is WAY over me.....but the v.2 sofware, gratis, would be a nice gesture (if v.2 would work on Kore 1). Of course we all remember that v.1 didn't work too well on Kore 1, so why should I anticipate?

    Peace,

    Dave

    If you really want to send a message, try demanding that NI give all dissatisfied Kore 1 users a free Novation SL - LOL!

    Okay - I'll stup up now, but first, pbuchta - I don't know what the heck you just said but it sent chills my way. Bravo.

    i gave up on NI because of this thing. worst technological experience ever. fact. i do think its great you cant have the same audio out through the headphone output as the main output, that was genius.

    Hey, and let's also not forget the hilarious fact that Kore isn't compatible with many recent VST plugins -- not being compatible with Pluggo is simply unacceptable. NI advertised Kore as being fully VST-compatible but that's a funny joke on us early-adopter beta testers. I'm sure that Kore 2 will have all of this compatibility; let's guess how much NI will charge us to get a fully working product?

    LOL... Yeah now if only Novation could come up with the VSTi rack/morphing thingy to replace the other part of KORE!

    Yeah double for me! Of course in regard to KORE 1/2 I think NI is following the philosophy of RUMI, the twelfth century Persian saint who said, "Unfold Your Own Myth"

    Cheers,

    Another strange thing about K2 : the morphing fonction.
    Why N.I add this tool in the software and not in the hardware.
    I think it's doesn't exist joystik for morph into 8 section in the new kore 2 kontroller.
    Morph with a mouse ? no thank you !!

    work in progress...

    i basically find the morphing-snapshot function a good idea - and see no problem to control it via the existing controller.
    on the musikmesse presentation video i think i remembered 8 snaphots that can be recalled and morphed by pressing/moving mouse (beside the guy who controlled core used the old controller, but he didnt use the audio interface ;-)

    well , there are 8 soft buttons on the control unit kore 1/2 over/under the knobs.
    so it should be easily possible to store/recall snapshots with them.

    and it also should be no problem to move x/y with two of the endless rotary knobs. you can morph in fm8 already this way. no big problem. you are right - a stick would be probably better like at wavestation, d-50 and originally 1st at prophet vs - but then the compatibility between the 2 controllers kore1/2 would have been gone and kore 1 controller would have really a greater loss in wort - and a stick is always in danger to be broken during transport.

    so it only needs a system update for the controller with new menu functions and maybye a kind of "hot key combination" for quick calling of snapshot editing out of any existing controll menu and were on the way. (so this time nobody at NI can say im not a constructive user of KORE ;-) )

    How about a USB trackball? That would be my choice.

    Good Idea...here in my Studio is a old logitec usb trackball located on my Master Keyboard for Mouse Action in Cubase. I think ill plug it to my lap and try morphing in fm8 with it...sometimes the simple solutions are really so near...and you dont see them..

    ...perhaps they can built in some function to lock the touchpad to the morph-fields - a solution at least for laptop users (personally, I don't mind - I have a padKontrol :D)

    ...and the software seems to have some very nice features - especially for the database. I hope, it'll work properly right from the start...

    Re: Kore 2 for free for Kore 1 buyer (today)

    Just to clarify, the current Special Offer in the U.S. provides a free upgrade to the Kore 2 software, NOT the Kore 2 controller.

    For owners of Kore 1 + Komplete (any version):
    49 Euro / $ 59
    This offer will be available throughout July and August.

    True, Kore has been a big disappointment. But I have a hard time feeling too bad about that kind of pricing.

    The Kore 2 software upgrade isn't too bad, but some might suggest this should be a free upgrade, especially since it will be a download with virtually zero distribution cost to NI, and given there have been so many problems with Kore 1.

    What I am dissapointed with is the 349 Euro / $ 399 "Full upgrade" cost (the cost to get the Kore 2 controller). I never needed the medium quality audio interface in Kore 1 anyway.

    Yep, mee too ! in priority Kore 2 should be a super instrument without bug or crash in use with all the last host sequencer : live 6, sonar, cubase 4, logic, digital perf...
    It's crazy that the msucial's industry make a lot of bug with commercial software and computer. It's stop creativity.

    So kore 2 ? yes but with a mega stability, if not go to the trash !

    best regards
