kore and ableton not friends on my machine

kore and ableton are still not getting along on either one of my machines. the most recent version is getting on better than the last. having said that sometimes kore will "lose" the sounds and i will have half of the database. also i can only have one instance of kore open in ableton. i know that you can do split things and things of that sort but i do not like "having" to do some things a certain way. i am wondering if others are having anything like this or if it is just me.

I'm not seeing that, but I'm still using 4.1.4 as my Live version.

How much free space on your drive? How much RAM?

gig of ram 30 gigs of free hd space
everything else runs smoothly.
if i try to open more than one instance it just drops it kinda sucks
i am about to try the latest beta of 6
let you know how it goes

 

beta 6 is working with kore pretty well i will use that for now till we get out of the beta phase

 

I have a similar problem. When I load Kore instances into Live 5.0.3 I frequently get the error message "Kore cannot find your sounds database" and all the sounds are empty. It happens totally randomly. However I can run more than one instance, but it normally happens after the 3-4th Kore instance. Posted a question about it ages ago, but got no reply from NI.

Im running a dual core 4800+ machine with 4Gb of RAM and 250Gb spare disk space.

 

i think that your machine should run it
i am building a rack computer that i hope will be comparable, just a broke ass right now.
try the beta of 6 it is getting good now. was shakey at first but is getting good with the dual core now

I have tried kore on my Powerbook 1.25ghz and 3.2ghz PC.
Its been about two months.

Live crashes on the PC.

Kore controller bugs out on the Mac.

I am going to ask the shop to swap it for novation SL
if i cant get it to work in the shop.

It appears to work ok. stand alone.
but i have not tested it more than 10min...

does it crash during the plugin scan? that's the only consistent crash I've had with Live and Kore on the PC.

if so, try manually scanning for plugins in Kore standalone. then close that and start Live

Yeah on 5.2.2 it freezes Live on startup.

But on 6.0.1 it launches and crashes Live when i try to load a new one in a track. just leaves the mouse with a little white page stuck to it.

On my Mac it loads in 5 + 6.

But crashes when i load it in a track ?

Do you think its broken ?

I have asked N.I. for help.

Kore crashes Ableton 5 + 6 on MAC + PC

WTF ?

 

i did some thorough Live+Kore tonight, to make sure I wasn't full of crap. it worked great here on PC, with Live 6.

Stand alone seams ok, but thats pretty useless by itself.

With LIVE - is there something i am missing ?

did you use kore audio ? or MOTU ?

I got Live5.2.2 on osx to run kore as plug-in !

doesnt crash. but doesnt recognise any plugs that are not N.I.

I'm gonna rebuild, rescan ... all that.

I got it working in LogicPro after a couple of crashes it worked.
Then i tried in Live5.2.2 and it works also. except no "other vst's"

on with it...

 

hey, that's cool.. but weird, I guess. does it recognize the non-NI plugs in standalone mode?

i am using motu audio, but i have successfully used kore audio in the past.. i will try to test that today.

have you changed the latency settings for the controller at all? the default settings were crushing my XP machine. also do you have the 1.03 update of Kore?

I reformatted my C\ drive on my PC
loaded Ableton 6.0.1
re-inserted kore1.0.3

and lovely.

next i will add my vst's ... one by one.

I reformatted my C\ drive on my PC

installed LIVE 6, Kore1.0.3, renamed rewire.dll, installed vst's.

It gets a bit slugish graphic refresh sometimes but its working with kore audio.

 

well, at least you narrowed it down.. does waldorf attack work in kore standalone?

did you send this in via the support form? because i doubt anybody's looking at this

I built a Pc with XP pro and a core duo processor and then put Live 5.2 and kore on, plus some plugins to test Kore. There are a lot of problems.
1. You cannot type kore Kore through Live (NI knows about this)
2. You cannot change presets in Absynth after re-opening a Kore sound (This happens in the standalone version as well).
3. Windows open blank ( I've had Kore windows open blank, as well as some of the Korg legacy plugins).
4. You can open multipule instances of Kore in Live, but after re-opening the Live session all the labels are gone.
5. Kore will not work until you open Kore's gui for each instance in live.
6. I saved a midi map in some of the Korg Legacy plugins, Kore loses this map on re-open.

I've had problems with the Kore plugin in Cubase SX 3 and it does not work at all in Samplitude 8.

Since I built a machine with a fresh install of windows and only put this software on it, I feel fairly sure that these problems are with kore, not my system.

I worked with NI support to try to get some solutions for these problems and ended up being told that a patch was due soon (1.03) As far as I can tell this patch made almost no difference.
I'm very upset that NI has released a product so far from being done and is not doing what they can to make perform as advertised. Now they excited about 5 new products. I'm not!
