I have been trying to install Kore and Komplete 4 upgrade for the past 2 nights and have come to the decision to clear my computer of all traces of native instruments stuff and start again from scratch.
I have had so many hickups and things not working it must be a world record. Absolutely none of it works.

One of the most worrying things was that Kore became my main audio out in all plugins and in other none NI software. My RME fireface 800 was not recognised as an audio interface but it was as a midi port can anyone help me with this?

Also can anyone provide me with a definitive guide to setting up Kore and Komplete 4 upgrade. I read that there is an NI guide online but also that no one can find it.

Shall I copy all VST ddls into a separate folder for the benefit of Kore I am not sure whether this is necesary? Can anyone explain this.

I don't like to be so negative but all my previously positive experiences of NI have been somewhat overshadowed by the past 2 nights of wasted time.

I am determined to get this sorted whatever the cost to my mental state so if anyone can offer some clear advice for me and the other unfortunates who have spent money on this software I would greatly appreciate it
I am not usually so lame at sorting out computer problems I have just built my own system from scratch and it has been running fine until I introduced it to this software
    Cheers

    Welcome =)

Install Kore and update to 1.1. Don't run it yet.
Now, install Komplete 4 and all the updates. Run each in standalone and rebuild databases/correct library paths. Now, start Kore and rescan your plugins/rebuild your database.

Your RME should be showing up. Kore will probably be first in the list, but your RME should be there.

    You're right; I didn't have any problems.

And, Thomas and I have warned you about your style of posting before. Consider this your final warning.

As you know, I used to recommend the way you're talking about. However, in this thread, you'll notice support recommends the opposite, which is why I said to do it that way.

Which install? The Komplete install? It's copying over the EP library, but it definitely shouldn't take that long.

I'd contact support if I were you.

I'm also moving this thread to the product installation/activation forum, which is where it probably should have been in the first place.

Thanks for the comments I am following EW's advice about installation and I intend to do this by the letter. I have been loading sample libraries for the past 2.5 hours hopefully get this sorted this evening and then download an install updates. I am hoping that I will not repeat any mistakes I made last time. I had an interesting conversation with a chap at arbiter who does tech support for the uk today. He suggested that getting Kore up and running first would be the way he would do things. He also informed me that the Komplete upgrade should work without Kore installed as long as it has been registered. He also suggested that there may be an issue with my Fireface asio drivers (not so sure about that one). The chap at Arbiter spoke very highly of Kore and said he owns a version.

Other issues he raised that mess up installations include faulty Kore controllers, certain brands of DVD RW although this can be overcome by copying DVD contents to computer and loading whilst the disk is installed, and cheap chipsets for usb 2 on certain mainboards. My computer should be ok by the way!

I am feeling a bit more positive about the install at the moment and I am hoping I will have it running by Monday. Or then again I might be crying into my keyboard.

    Librarys

Its 11.30 and I am going to crash out. I have made some progress. I have been running instruments in Standalone having loaded updates. All work ok except Elektric and Akoustic Pianos which cannot find their own libs. Can someone tell me exactly which folder to point them to to get them to work as i am getting repetative strain injury using that tiny browser that pops up. Cheers
My RME fireface is still not recognised has anyone any ideas about this I have been listening to sounds through Kore 1
    thanks for reading this

Saturday night, day 4 of the install. Most stuff from Komplete 4 seems to be working at the moment except Elektric Piano which cannot seem to find its own library. I think I have pointed it at the right folder but not sure as its 1.5 version CAN ANYBODY HELP PLEASE. I have had programs uninstalling themselves I thought it was my imagination at first but I have had to reinstall ABsynth Battery 3 and B4.
On a more positive note i have had a play with the synths and they sound really good and this reminded me why I am still trying to finish this install.
Now I am going to attempt to get Kore to work

    Thanks

Hi Martin unfortunately I contacted the NI online support last week on the 15th ticket number 2007081510008599 regarding my soundcard not been seen. I am still waiting for a response to this. They did manage to respond to another enquiry about a copy of massive I bought of Ebay only to be told that it was a not for resale version you can imagine how displeased with this I was. To add insult to injury I was in Sound control in Manchester optimistically buying a Novation SL to use with the other 2000 pounds worth of new computer and NI software and I found out you are now giving away Massive for Free with the same bundle I bought 3 days earlier. I am still trying to get elektric piano working tonight. I have reinstalled it to find that Acoustic piano had uninstalled and that needed redoing I have had several crashes while looking at Audio options in Elektric Piano including one that went to a blue screen. I have made some progress however as it is at least no longer telling me that it cannot find the sample library It just isnt making any sound. This must be testament to the fact that I hold NI sounds in very high regard as I continue to try to get this thing working without adequate support.

I have been using computers for recording music since the mid ninetees so I am not a novice and am prepared to get my hands dirty fixing and building systems.

I think that I remain very restrained with my forum thread as I am now up to night 6 installing this thing. I have never come across such buggy and poor functioning software. If I was to express my true sentiments regarding the experience of spending this time spent installing Komplete 4 and kore and awy from my wife and kid or other activities I would probably get barred from this forum for my use of language
thanks for suggesting the online syupport though
    Jez
