i don't understand the logic behind this. Kore says it will allow me to choose the location for my library, but yet when i do choose the location and rebuild database.[in my scenario] Idrive IT FAILS TO LOAD the samples can someone from Native respond to this ...what am i doing wrong?
this is on a fresh install from xp - to installing kontakt 2.1 then kore 1.1.....anyone care to enlighten me? thanks in advance!
oh by the way vst's load with no problem....just samples won't load in kontakt 2 library...what gives

bobbybland--if Intakt, Kompakt, etc. are working for you, I'd be curious to know what your library path is and where your VSTs are. Maybe it'll clue me into something?

Kinda funny, Kontakt works fine for me.

    jransom,
sorry but i'm in the same boat as you as far as kompakt, kontakt, intakt.... but other plugin's like pro53.massive,absynth4, i have no problems with those....if anyone can help us out it would be Native as they are the ones who designed the specs for the wack data path...GIVE US CLEAR NEW INSTRUCTIONS on the correct way to install for us who use multiple harddrives and in my case have converted about 400 gigs for kontakt one weak link and the chain snaps!! How is this possible. Kontakt 2.1 standalone will allow me to put files wherevr' i want as soon as i tell kore to find samples it's brainless... it's as the programmer, did not test for this equasion.

    xp-3.2 p4 2g ram
    kontakt 2.1 + kore 1.1
600.00 + mad time lost on this native what gives??

    Kontakt: 2.1.1.001

All my programs are on C:, all my libraries are in subdirectories of d:\sample libraries\, so Kontakt is d:\Sample Libraries\Native Instruments\Kontakt 2 Library

you have done the rescan/rebuild thing, right?

As frustrating as it is, if they knew just exactly what we need to do they would tell us. It's working for some people, it's not for others. Exactly why is probably not that easy to figure out.

yes i have scanned and rebuilt like 5 times uninstalled, reinstalled.
i have no idea. why. maybe drive letter to high. I'm using drive (i)
Kontakt Library/then my sub-folders- bass -guitars. all in kontakt format. funny thing is . stand-alone i updated to Kontakt.v2.2.0.005.. and it works fine in standalone (kontakt) with no load problems.. but when i load it in kontakt in (kore) standalone it can't find my samples on i drive........arrghh....i've tried everything i can think of...........anything u can think of.
    Thanks

frankly, I see no reason why the path would have anything to do with any of this.

ta-da wow i got back here b4 NATIVE HUH...FIGURES..HERE GOES

AHA--Solution....open kontakt delete database. build a new database starting with 3 folders on your desired drive like so. Sample Libraries/Native Instruments/Kontakt 2 Library place all dvd kontakt 2 dvd content/sounds in the last folder Kontakt 2 Library . yes i know but it'll work...REBUILD database in kontakt. after it's done reboot
NOW.. you can load Kore hit kontakt,,sounds load very fast...peace
oh yeah if it wasn't for this forum we'd be outta luck. please users post all solutions you find becuz it makes it a easier for us to learn and help others....by the way native u still need to make a real installer for previous owners going thru this garbage wack data path , make it more reliable and a bit more forgiving... ThaNkz
we shouldn't have to troubleshoot this,, u should support your products...

    Thank you Bobbybland

yes...I had the same problem here with Kontakt 3 not finding the sample in Kore 2. I tried reconfiguring and rescanning and all the other suggestions to no avail. But when I made the three folders like you suggested and rebuilt the database in Kontakt everything worked fine in Kore and loaded very quickly. I didn't actually delete my database and re-load from the dvd's, but just dragged them from where they were into the new folders, and voila!:)

I tried the trick but now K3 can´t find the samples...
Do i need to erase the previous data base? How do i do that?

    Thanks

you have to re-build the database in K3 and make sure it is pointing to the right folders in the options menus.
