Hi there, it has been a long time. But I think I have a good tip for all you disappointed KORE users that still have the KORE system. As is clear, NI has created some sort of successor to KORE: Komplete Kontrol. While the sound browsing is finally working, the system is lacking the flexibility of KORE, since you can nor layer sounds ore use effects inside in the Komplete Kontrol software. However if you still have your KORE system, than combining the two will give you an almost perfect system, see my video here:

So, do not throw away your KORE system!

Oh yes you can use them both together very well, I have been adding KK to my Kore setup mainly to access the larger and more uptodate database. I don't have a S Series keyboard so I created templates to control the KK browser in Kore instead. Unlike trying to save Kore inside KK, you can save KK inside Kore. I made a Komplete Kontrol template pack ages ago so I could control all NI plugins and my most used third party ones from inside KK using Kore - that way I get the advantage of Kore control plus KK's database, plus the addition of being able to morph sounds and do everything Kore can do that KK can't.

I posted the first version of these when KK first came out but since then have made more specifictemplates rather than a generic one as I found that there is a lot of variation in param order in KK mappings

re the greying out - this was discussed a while back - another reason to use KK inside Kore (but then I don't have the keyboard)

The reason why I would like to be able to save KORE into KK, is that I am a real big fan the new "hardware browsing" facility of the Kontrol S Keyboard. It is so much better than browsing in KORE and one of the main reasons for me to finally go for the Kontrol S keyboard. Before they implemented the new "hardware browsing" function, the Kontrol S browsing was already better, but still not convincing for me. I wished they had added this simple solution to KORE. I believe it would have given KORE the success it deserved.

I am now thinking of emptying the KORE database and only add my different KK layered setups . This way the browsing is do-able in KORE without the need of touching the computer.

I can't see how the browsing is much different tbh, you can browse presets from the Kore hardware too.

Yes, you can browse using the KORE hardware, but you will have to set the filter on the computer. With KKS you can set the filter on the hardware as well, without even have to look to the screen. This might seem insignificant, but for me it makes all the difference. Together with KORE it finally feels like a hardware workstation does: direct, hands on control, no mouse.

    Hi...
This looks amazing... My Kore system looks like there's an USB Issue (I can see the parameters "dancing" on the software, just like if I'm touching the buttons... but no.)
I want to load Kore inside KK.... but I don't know how... And you did it. Is it still possible with the 2.1.2 version of KK ? How did you load Kore inside KK ?

Thanks a lot for your response !

Long term Kore user here having just bought an M32. I like KK so far but wow, Kore has so much more to offer...
I do agree the browsing is nice in KK and the sound preview of every preset is fantastic. But I miss the morphing and layering of Kore. The whole ‘save as a sound’ concept in Kore is inspired. So I will definitely use both Kore and KK in tandem.

Every time I see an old video of Kore it still blows my mind. It's just still such an amazing concept and execution. Sadness that they gave up on it!
