In Cubase v4, I created two Kore Instrument tracks and assigned a different sound to each track. For each track, I made the Mixer available so that the Kore Controller could adjust the volume or panning or any other available parameter. When I press the Sound button of the Controller, I can select the loaded sound by name. And, this is good.

However, I cannot affect the sound of the preset while it is being played within Cubase. When the sound is viewed on the Kore Controller page page, I can see the changes that the various Controller knobs and buttons affect but this does not change the resulting sound in Cubase.

Am I doing something wrong or does this feature not work?

    Thanks, CS.

Which plugs did you load in Kore?

Some parameters on the EA pages are named strange. For example in Absynth 3 the EA "volume" knob changes the CC1 so you don`t hear an effect in some cases. The problem is that the assigned parameter in the plugin have multiple functions f.e. the sliders in Absynth. So in Kore they don`t have a right name in all cases . But on most plugs it works as it should.

Workaround: Make a new user page and assign parameters like volume and pan from Kores channel view, not from the loaded plugin.

    Muzel,
Thank you for your reply. I had created User Mixer pages for each instrument. Within Kore, I could see the mixer effects changes but on output, you could not hear any difference.

AGAIN: Is the problem present with all your plugs? Which plugins are loaded in Kore?

Can you hear any difference when you move the knob on the screen with the mouse? Maybe you change inactive parameters.

Can you post a cubase project with the problem?

If you can`t describe your problem more exactly nobody will help you.

    Muzel,
The problem is within Kore/Komplete plug-ins. Kore is not being used with any non-NI plugin. In this case I am using two instances of FM7 assigned to Cubase v4 Instrument tracks.

Whenever Kore is loaded into the VST Stack, I have parameter control over the instrument using the Kore Controller for all assigned parameters. In order to have multiple Kore controlled instruments in a project, I would have to have multiple instances of Kore in the VST Stack. To avoid this overhead, I am using the new Cubase v4 Instrument Tracks. I can control all Instrument Tracks with CC messages but I would like to use my Kore Controller and change any of the various mapped parameters provided by NI.

Moving the knob on the screen within the Kore page does the same as the controller does, it moves the knob but without a change to the resulting sound output. I am adjusting the Volume parameter in the Mixer window of the plugin. Volume is a common parameter to all Mixer pages of Kore plugins. As stated above, if I use the volume slider in the Cubase mixer or an external fader sending CC messages, the change is heard as adjusted.

If this is not sufficiently clear, I will create a small project with the FM7 assigned to an instrument track and attach it in my next communication. Thanks, CS.

Thanks, your problem is clear now.

But it seems to be really strange. If I load Kore in two different instrument tracks and load the FM7 in each of the Kore instances - everything works well. I can control the volume and all the other parameters with the Kores knobs and the changes are heared, recorded and played back correct.

Are you using the actual versions of Cubase4 (4.01) and Kore (1.1). Make sure the plugin is the actual version too (the update installer sometimes installs a new version of Kore in a new folder instead overwriting the old one).

Is there any difference when loading FM7 directly in the instrument track? Is Kore standalone working correct?

Are the pages showing up as user pages in the plugin? Sometimes they'll show up in the default pages instead.

For the page to be recorded as host automation, it MUST be one of the first eight user pages in the plugin.
