    Well, the limited time offer deals seem pretty good. I'm a Komplete 2 user and bought KC2006 but never opened it. Figured I'd wait until a good announcement for instruments that would qualify for updates before I register it. Otherwise my copy has been for sale. Then I realized you could buy Komplete 3 at any time and get all the existing updates.

    Anyhow, for some the LTO on KORE looks like an attractive deal. I am wondering if this decreases the chances of any other product updates for KC2006 customers though, given that any Komplete 2 customer can get Komplete 3 for "free" after buying KORE.

    It doesn't look like an attractive deal to me! Komplete2&3 and Kare2006.

    I domn't want the hardware.... I just want the software engine!
    The 'special offer' , where I would get Komplete Sound, is absolute rubbish. Where is the value in that?

    I have had a look at it (Komplete Sound) and there are duplicates of patches from other insruments etc.... What a Kon! ;-)

    Grrrfff

    Not again! I bought KC2005 in good faith just to find out that I spent the money just to become a guinea pig for the buggy software. The most important reason why I got KC2005 was Kontakt 2 and it seems that it's going to be somewhat ready in april 2006!

    What a déjà vu. I shouldn't have bought the upgrade to Komplete 3 as now I could have gotten it for free as the Kore looks like something I would have been interested of. I have no interest in KC2006, not even for free. It seems to be time to pass Kore and wait for the hardwareless version. Or stop letting NI screw me all over again.

    ... as a Komplete 2 owner I like the offer with the free upgrade to Komplete 3 (not because of their crappy E-Pianos, but Guitar Rig!!!), but I will wait until the last to see how buggy Kore will be ;-) ...
    I tested it yesterday on the Musikmesse and the knobs of the controller are very nice, whereas the buttons are cheap and seem to be the first things to break. I like the software a lot and it will be a great help to improve your workflow, though I was not as enthusiastic about it as the NI staff - but it seems to be normal to put your employees on Prozac before a great trade fair ;-) ...

    ...but Komplete Care again? No way! (...until the Summer NAMM, when they announce updates for the Pro-53 and FM7...)

    The Electric Piano is actually a very nice product.

    Hey seriously NI. Both Komplete Care 2006 and Komplete Sound 2 are priced at 299 Euros. Give the Komplete3 owners a choice between the two. Getting KC2006 for free isn't a freebie, it's a slap in the face. I understand that you wouldn't have to offer anything for free but do you really think it's a wise policy to make the loyal customers always pay more while all new customers get the best deals?

    What about a customer with K2 with Elektrik & Akoustik Piano & Komplete Sound 2 and not interested in Care 2006?
    Are really the offers to buy Kore good enough?
    Regards
    Miguel

    Hi Loachm, I noticed you siad you had a chance to test the KORE, If you don't mind could you please tell me how it works?. I have not seen the point of having the actual box as all the work seems to be done in the software Is this true?

    What do you use to connect the box? is it a USB cable?

    I appreciate this many thanks.

    In regards to the LTOs, c'mon people, us KC2005 customers learned a hard lesson last year that it pays to wait when it comes to NI products. There will always be another deal around the corner. There will probably be some Kore "super pack" you can get next fall that will save even more money. However, I was slightly surprised to see the $500 pricepoint (street price), based purely on the hype NI had been creating, I expected it to be $700-$800.

    @GospoNI

    I believe the controller connects via USB2.0 to support its audio interface.

    I would be interested in seeing a video of a demonstration, to see how well the controller and the software work together. The idea sounds cool in concept, but I'll need to see some demonstrations or at least some reviews from people here before I plunk down the cash.

    I had it - it's not! I sold and I'm using Scarbee now - two different worlds, also considering the price, I must admit...

    @GospNI

    ...it will be connected via USB, not sure about USB 2.0 though (...and I'm too lazy to look it up now...). I like the touch-sensitivity - you touch one knob with your fingertips and you'll see on the screen which parameter of the plug-in will be controlled. I forgot to ask about this, but I guess, this is also possible, since it's supposed to have a bidirectional communication, i.e. clicking on a parameter on the screen will activate the respective knob and showing you this by the light at the bottom of the knob - can anybody confirm this? The knobs have a high resolution (... I think about 400-500 steps instead of 127...) and tweaking them feels very good. Kore will definitely have some impact on your workflow and will make it much more convenient. I'm also interested, because I need an ASIO soundcard for my laptop (...in my case the concerns about a high-end *sound-quality* is of a minor priority, as I still use a desktop PC with an external sound-interface...) and the opportunity to get the Guitar Rig SW for free with the upgrade to Komplete 3 is very tempting. But after all I'm still sceptical, if I should get it (...see my first post in this forum...)

    Maybe it's a personal preference and you actually play the thing? I just use it to make believable electric keyboard parts and it works fine atleast with other instruments. Scarbee might be better (haven't tried) but NI isn't bad either. Atleast it doesn't sound bad.

    The same goes with the rest of NI products. I like every one I have (as long as they work as they are supposed to). My problem with NI has to do only with the pricing differences between new and loyal customers.

    ...sorry - I should have put a smiley after my reply, so that it didn't sound that harsh, which wasn't intended. I stand to my statement, but the tone should have been rather ironic - so don't mind...

    I'm not a very good player, for I have never really learnt it, but I can play a bit. I bought the Elektrik Piano, because I thought it was a good value for the money, which it still might be! So, you're right - it's all personal. The problem I had with it was the Rhodes' original sound (..the Wurly was quite good and I didn't care so much about the Clav...) - too less velocity layers in the midranges and the overall sound 'too much in the back' for my taste - it simply didn't sound the way I'd expected a Rhodes to sound. I tried a lot to get it to sound the way I wanted, but I couldn't make it. I even liked the sound of the free mda ePiano with its few 12bit (?) samples better than the NI EP...
