Since they all F...ed it up cause prolly it's just to difficult for em to make a stable working version of it, using other lame excuses to make it a discontinued product just cause they got to much complaints (so it seems in my ears and eyes)
about the product doesn't mean they just got to give it up i think ^^
Kore would have been the best integration to do a live with maschine
i realy love Kore it's just not fair! (think i'll never buy any Ni product again)

How many Ni Kore users want NI to re-evaluate the absurd decision

    Put your Hands up ;)

Oh, they won't reconsider at this point. They announced the death of Kore in early June and here it is 2.5 months later, they've announced Komplete 8 to be available September 1st with no Kore support.

That's it, it's over and done. Stick a fork in Kore. It will live on only with end-user support.

I still think they should jump back to kore 1 without the integrated engines and add the new file format then have it where we just put the vst where we need it. Then they could rebuild from there. I know it would never happen but its a good way to make it more NI resource friendly.

That's an excellent point Klutch. You mean "Kore 1" in terms of the software version because that was before the integrated engines. Even though I don't fully understand all of the possible troubles with this, I like your concept a lot. But I doubt it would happen.

I wouldn't know if it was terrible or not because I'm a Kore 2 user.

I'm just saying to the other poster that his concept sounds plausible to me. No integrated engines, just make Kore able to browse, load, and morph.

Rather than trying to make us look bad by just picking one thing out and saying that Kore 1 is bad (which may be true, but is also irrelevant to this discussion), why not address Klutch's comment and concept on its merit? I still think his idea is a good one, and you haven't said anything good or bad about that.

Time to flatten "Road to the future".(<-"Kore development roadmap" was the header of the e-mail, where they told...."Road ends ahead")

Well I never used kore 1 either. My point is go back/reset back to a version where it was meaningful to NI to move forward. Maybe kore 1 was garbage but I feel the way you shoot a lot of stuff down is garbage as well. Let's go back. And make different moves forward and call kore 2 a big mistake with good intentions.

    I'm having a deja vu here :)
All these things have already been proposed and have been shut down by NI's forum man Keir. It was undoable and naieve of us to think it's possible. No Kore shell, no Kore open source, etc.

It made me wonder: if they made it once, why can they not make it twice? They still have their brilliant developers, right?

The conclusion was: our only hope is Big Tick's Zen. And in the meantime we need to get NI to keep Kore working until the warranty is over. I don't want my money back, I just want to use this brilliant product in the way I got it for.

i suspect Kore 2 was a code re-write. i can't remember if Kore 1 had integrated engines or not, but i do remember that it had an integrated library but that the sound design aspect was extremely non- intuitive. it curtainly did not have Kore 2's ability to save a performance as a sound afaik.

to be honest, i would be happy to drop the integrated engine stuff and just have a software that could do the layering and morphing that Kore 2 can do now.

i kind of wish that NI sell Kore and let another software company take over.

Yes - a deal/lease with the Muse people maybe? I suspect they have the knowledge to turn it into a hardware unit.

As I understand it you don't tinker about with the Muse Receptor. They do it and sell it to you as a "black box."

    The Receptor is rackmountable.

The Muse "Kore" would be different in that it would sit on your keyboard.

Stick the audio outs from Kore 1 back on there (Muse Receptor also only has two AFAIK).

Stick a CPU in there running whatever O/S Muse use already in Receptor.

Flash drive a selection of the deleted soundpacks - maybe the user selects them at time of purchase.

The integrated engines in KORE 2 is one of the dumbest programing moves I have ever seen. By doing that they tied themselves down to a major headache - everytime they updated the stand alone NI synths they would have to update KORE. Dumb. I think they finally realized the man-hours that this cost them and that's why they decided to kill it. And to stop selling already completed expansion packs? That is also very dumb. IT'S POTENTIAL INCOME! They must be rolling in the money to be able turn their backs on the packs....

I would like to see them remove the integration in the final update so that we can use future versions of NI synths in it. Of course I'm not holding my breath...
