Okay... got everything up and running, and I'm ready to hit the ground running... BUT

I was hoping I could run one instance of Kore and use as many VST synths as I could across several midi channels, however this doesn't seem to be the case.

Am I wrong in assuming this is the case? Or does it depend on the particular VST synth, like if I ran Kontakt through the beast?

That was exactly why I bought it and you're right. It doesn't seem to be the case.

I think that, like me, you're going to have to get Kore 2 for that.

Trouble is, Kore 1 does so little of what seemed to be promised, I wonder if Kore 2 is going to be the same - big on promises, small on delivery. I wonder how long it will be before NI are saying that a chunk of the promised Kore 2 feature set will be available in Kore 3.

    ?

It works here, in both standalone and as a plugin.

What Kore won't do is rechannelize your plugins; you have to actually be sending on that channel. And, it won't give you access to separate patches as .ksds with multitimbral synths. Other than that, it'll receive on multiple channels.

Where in the manual does it talk about setting this up, I've searched the PDF several times for "mutliple" "multitimbral" and can find no information on how to set Kore to recieve on multiple midi channels...

What I'm looking for is to have two softsynths running in Kore but not responding at the same time when I hit a key. I want to play a bass part in pro53 and a pad from absynth, but I can't seem to find something that lets me say Absynth= ch 2 and Pro53= ch1

Or is this what you were talking about that can't be done? If that's the case than Kore isn't a multitimbral sound device.

Or do I have to workaround by setting up splits?

I can run multiple instances of Kore, but this seems counter to its designed purpose.

You have to click on the filter tab of the softsynth's channel you want to make assignments, there you can specify on wich channel you want it to recieve, and specify the notes range. (Also from witch midi port if needed.) It works as well in the performance level and in the sound level...
(But i can't figure out why, i can't drag'n drop the second and third softsynth in the new channel than i have created and selected, in the sound level, because it will replace the first one :| but it works well with ctrl-click)
    Does this help?

AHA! I had just figured that out by using right-click drop menus I could get things to pop in where I wanted them, but Ctrl+click will save me three steps.

Yeah, that helps a ton! I'm already writing!

Were you able to get it to work multitimbrally? I got it all figured out now.

Sure you can with 1.1- that's what the add button's for. Extend the sound using the extend sound button, click on the add button and drag away...
