Has anyone used the Kore soundpack / Battery Pop Drums? (960MB) Opinions?

    According to:
    http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=acousticdrumspop&L=1&ftu=7b1f47daffe38a5

POP DRUMS delivers two brand new premium acoustic drum kits ready for your pop productions. Each kit was carefully recorded to give the full dynamics of a real acoustic drum set.

Fully utilizing the KONTAKT engine integrated into KORE 2 and KORE PLAYER, this pack contains 20 KoreSounds covering full acoustic kits, smaller 'quick-use' versions, and a selection of sounds using KORE's built-in effects. Additionally, POP DRUMS used with KORE 2 or KORE PLAYER include numerous sound variations and a large selection of MIDI grooves for a broad range of production styles.

The drum kits in this library can also be used with the BATTERY 3 and KONTAKT 3 full versions.

I've got it. I like what I've done with the kits so far...

They use round robin voice allocation very well; there's a nice natural feel to a lot of it.

    I've been relocated!

Thanks EW, I'll have to check it out.

Round robin is one of the most powerful gems in Battery -- good to see it being used in these patches.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but how can you use this sound pack with battery?

    Welcome =)

There's a subfolder in the Pop Drums sample folder with the kits and Kontakt instruments. Either browse to them via Battery's browser or use the file/open command.

If you want them to appear in your Battery kits dropdown after that, resave the kits to your Battery library folder. I use the patch only/absolute sample path option myself.

    Pop Drums - battery

Same problem here. I'm on a Mac and in Battery3 I can browse to the folder that's in the shared content folder that is Pop Drums, but can not load any of the sounds. It appears that you can not open the folder to get at the .ksd files

    ?

Battery doesn't use .ksds. You're looking for the .kt3 files.

Only 2 battery kits in this package?

    Hi,

anybody knows why there is only 2 battery kits in this pack, while there is 20 kore sounds? I am interested in this pack, but I guess my concern is that the kore sounds might sound all alike.

And is there any difference between this pack and the battery studio drums compilation?

    Thanks,

Why? Because they use different micing, FX, etc.
    I couldn't say- I don't have Studio Drums.

Pop Drums and Studio Drums are completely different libraries based on different sample material.
