My Kore2 hardware controller stopped working. I have tried uninstall-reboot-reinstall-reboot and I've swapped USB cables with functional devices connected.

When I connect the controller via USB cable, the lights come on...the lights come on sweeping across the unit left to right like it calibrates itself or something, but the lights come on for a second...only for that initial process. And then it sits there, black.

I upgraded from Cubase Essential to Studio, but I can't remember if the blackout coincided with that or not.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

That's what's supposed to happen. What happens if you start up Kore?

Nothing happens when I open the editor either....

    So I:

    Uninstalled driver and editor
    Rebooted
    Reinstalled driver and editor
    Rebooted
Connected Controller to USB, it lit left to right like it's s'posed to and blacked out
Opened KORE2 - No reaction from controller...stayed black
Swapped USB cables with a device that is working, reopened KORE2, nothing

I deleted the installation.exe files and went back to the driver download page, and downloaded the driver and editor, making sure I downloaded apps for Windows. I went through the uninstall/reinstall process twice again, and connected the hardware device after installation. Open KORE2 and nothing.

FYI - When I connect the controller via USB, I get Windows telling me of an unknown device and drivers must be installed, with options to search for driver, remind me later, and don't notify me of this again. For the heck of it, I browsed to the folder in which the driver resided, but of course, Windows didn't see it.

    Help! :)

If you're using XP, don't let Windows search for an updated driver- choose the not this time option (first screen) and let it install the drivers automatically (second screen).

I'm having the same issue. I haven't had the Kore2 controller plugged in for months, just ran the updates for all NI products I have installed, plugged in the controller and nothing happens after the initial power lights sweep across the surface.

I'm using Mac OS 10.6.3. I've tried getting Kore software to detect in the standalone, ableton live and also the controller editor but to no avail. I've also tried all of my USB ports, different cables, etc.

    Thoughts?

Did you install as administrator? Download the controller drivers from the free updates page, and before you run the installer, right click on it and choose run as administrator. Just turning off UAC doesn't work here.

    Hi...thanks again for responding.

Yes, I did try running as Administrator. I uninstalled the driver and installed it dozens of times. Whenever I open Kore, I get an error message saying the controller driver is not installed.

Is there possibly a setting in KORE2 that prevents it from seeing the controller?

COuld you guys check and see if you get this same message: When windows tries to load the K2 driver for the first time, ( after re-installing K2 driver update) ...click on the "installing driver" balloon and you will see that instead of Kore 2 driver, it will say "unknown driver", then unknown driver install failed, I think this is the clue to the problem, it seems that Windows 7 64 bit cant see the K2 driver and therefore wont install it - John

However, usually with W7, if you then open Kore, the controller will work.
Could all of you contact support, and include a link to this thread?

I have contacted support explaining the dozens of times I've tried uninstalling and installing and got this canned response (copy and pasted)

--- Please go to your Start Menu, then Control Panel, and select the "Programs and
Features" option. Select and uninstall the Native Instruments Kore 2 Controller
driver and then reinstall it from the latest update. ---

I replied to the canned response 7-9-10, explaining again all the stuff I've tried... literally dozens of times, and am still awaiting response.

    Thanks...

    Kore2 controller driver failure

Since I purchased Kore 2 and the controller, every time I get updates for the controller or run Kore updates (4+ so far) - it kills the driver.

I have to go back to the original disk and start over with the driver - and try to get the updates to work. I usually stop on the older drivers and just give up. Why does the Wise driver uninstaller and reinstaller have to work so poorly?

Exactly the same probleme than Robbyrock with windows 7 64,Kore2 use to work very fine , and one day (maybe after an update I don't remember exactly) the hardware do the same thing("When I connect the controller via USB cable, the lights come on...the lights come on sweeping across the unit left to right like it calibrates itself or something, but the lights come on for a second...only for that initial process. And then it sits there, black."),I try to uninstalling and installing 100 times...
    The soft work fine

That's all it's supposed to do when you first plug it in. Now, start Kore or run the controller editor; what happens then?

when I start Kore, the Software work fine, but nothing append with the Hardware , still off...
When I install the driver, my computer tell me that everything is ok, But when I plug the hardware just after, I think the computer don't find the driver...
