    Hi Folks,

First time posting here - although that might be a good thing, as it means I haven't had a problem thus far.

Running the latest model of Macbook Pro with fully-updated OSX. Running Maschine. No problems. Running Logic. No problems. Running Ableton. No problems.

Running Komplete 7 as a plug-in for each of the above programs. No problems.

Kore 2 hardware controller arrived in the mail today. Installed the software. Ran the updates. Then plugged the unit in. The unit flashed briefly, then went dark. No lights, no read out, no nothing. It is as if it is dead.

Tried plugging it into different USB ports on the computer. Tried different USB cables. Tried unplugging all the other hardware. Nothing fixes the problem.

Is it worth uninstalling Komplete 7, reinstalling Kore 2, then reinstalling Komplete 7? I haven't read any posts or other advice stating that users who installed Komplete before Kore needed to follow that protocol. Before I embark on that day-long adventure, I wanted to check and see if anyone has found a solution to the problem.

The Kore 2 unit works - I see the lights flash as the thing boots up. But then it goes dark.

I'd appreciate any assistance that you might have.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you start Kore 2 in stand alone mode first? Do you have the controller driver installed and updated?

Hi A1 - Thanks for the response. I updated the controller driver to 2.3.14 and then immediately again to 2.4.18 and ran Kore 2 in standalone mode first.

I installed the initial set of drivers from the disk, and then installed all of the relevant updates with the unit unplugged (as also required by Maschine). I then shut down the computer, connected the Kore 2 hardware controller, and restarted the computer.

My Maschine, APC40, Launchpad, and Novation keyboard are all running just fine. It is just the Kore 2 hardware controller.

Would you happen to have any other ideas? I've logged a ticket with NI, but am not hopeful on that front.

    Thanks.

Did you try plugging it in after the computer boots?

I would uninstall everything Kore and start with the new driver. Did you system restore your computer before installing Kore 2? If so, I would go back to that point and start there.

Also, if you are in the U.S. I would call them as they are quicker that way.

Yep - I tried that. Did not plug it in until I had installed all software and ran the updates.

I uninstalled everything Kore, and tried just the new driver. It did not work. :(:(

OK. I have narrowed down the problem. The problem is this update:

    Kore2_212U_OSX.dmg

Prior to installing the update file, the controller worked. The controller editor file was updated successfully. The controller driver file updated successfully. But when I ran the 2.1.2 update file, the controller went dark.

So, does anyone have any advice? How important is that update file?

Thanks for any help you could give me.
