Got a few questions regarding the Zero 4, which you own (?).
First up, when a channel's in MIDI-mode, are the analog mixer disabled so that it's only midi notes being sent and no audio is passed through?

Secondly, the two firewire connections on the back, what are both for? (One is for a soundcard I've concluded, but the other?)

I'll answer in reverse order cause the second question is the simplest:
    1) The firewire connections are there so you can connect one to the computer and one for daisy-chaining some other device like a hard drive or whatnot. Best to hook the mixer directly to the computer then everything else to the mixer. Don't put anything between the mixer and the computer. I learned this the hard and embarrassing way.

    2) When the channel is in MIDI mode (as in everything is lit up in green), you can still get sound out of that channel....but it isn't controlled by the channel fader so unless you have that channel fader mapped in MIDI as the volume fader in Traktor (and you're in internal mixer mode) for the intended channel, you won't be able to really control the sound.

    Hope that helps.

    Haha, my thoght exactly!

Not just you in particular, but I thought that it might help someone else later on

    Alright...

And I guess that the EQ knobs wont affect the sound either (unless it's mapped in traktor)?
Oh, and also, hows the sound quality compared to DJM-800 & Ecler Nuo4?

Well yeah you'd have to map the EQ knobs if you're using full MIDI mode. in Audio/MIDI mode the EQ knobs run the mixer EQ and don't send MIDI. This is what I use, along with the SLAMMING EQ setting.

Like most say, the sound is a bit flat compared to most other mixers, but you don't need to be a huge tweaker to get the sound just right. My EQ knobs are all just past 12 o'clock by varying small degrees in SLAMMING EQ and the mixer sounds fabulous. No hiss either.

^^That review alone was the reason I bought my Zero4. Very good very in-depth.

The FX knobs (including FX select but I dunno how to map that one), the FX switch (including the momentary "mute" part), and the crossfader.

Hey Telly I have one question.

Do you use Traktor's midi clock for the korg zero effects?

This is hilarious. Ive been bombarding TeLLy with questions about the Zero 4 for about a week and now hes getting it on the forum.

Come on TeLLy just make a YouTube Demo video and explain absolutely everything.
Read the manual for us and explain each section in the video.

    Tomorrow would be nice.

    Leave you to it bro.

Well, if I'm not mistaken you promised me a video effect demo on youtube by 14.00 +1H GMT tomorrow.

EDIT: The last time I saw your pants they were tied to the back of a Volvo station wagon with the text "just married" and a bunch of SSL boxes attached to a string.

Wha? When did I promise that? Was I stoned?

Correction: Was I more stoned than usual?

I'm not a huge effector by any means...my use in live play is limited because a Filipino wedding guest typically doesn't want a flanger on top of the stupid Cha Cha Slide he requested.

Dude, get your story straight. I said to send pictures of your hot cousin, not send pictures of you in a bunny suit TAKEN by your cousin. I mean sure, the bunny suit is pretty hot, especially since it's anatomically correct...but I keep looking at it at work and popping inexplicable boners....and now I might be dismissed from my job for these weird-ons I'm sporting while hovering over someone's desk to correct his/her network access problems.

That explains a lot... No wonder you seemed so dismissive when I got your mail reply.

Yeah the one that said "Thanks for the pics, now I've got weird-ons", right?
