To Be able to assign your rotary for scrolling you would need a program called Bome's Midi Translator. I have yet to use this software but I have been told that is what is necessary to make this mixer work the way we want it to. As far as setting the loop and cue functions, that can be done within Traktor Pro.

You are correct in setting the mixer mode to external.

    Hope this helps guys!

    Thanks khutchinson22!

    Hi Karlos,

the 8 rotary above the display of the Zero 8 can be adjusted to work for a value from 1-127 and also as endless rotarys.
    The rotarys itself are endless.
For the use to browse through playlists I set it to be a endless rotary, but this doesn't work in the correct way, I tried several combinations of settings.

The strange thing is, if you adjust it as a rotary for a value from 1-127 it seems to work as long as you are scrolling in the range between 1-127, so you can only scroll a bit up and down or if you start scrolling at a value of 1, you can only scroll UP, if the value is about 64 already you can scroll UP (to 127) and DOWN (to 1).
In this range it works ok, without any jumps, just like it should do, but that is nothing to work with for sure.

Hopefully NI will be able and will be interested in solving this issue.
I'm not sure were the problem is located, in Traktor or in the Zero 8.
Traktor is the only software I noticed such problem so far, I also tried Ableton 8 and Reason which both works fine.

    Hey Akiim

The reason this doesn't work properly is because how the Zero8 is sending the messages from the endless encoder. The endless encoders have a CC message for twisting right, left, push, and I believe push and turn(not positive on this). Since Traktor is only reading 1CC message per command, when you twist the knob (let's say right) it is smooth scrolling but when you twist it left it doesn't work. BOMES fixes this by making the CC messages that are coming out of the encoder and reading them as keystrokes through BOMES. I have talked with NI about this numerous times and so have others with the Zero8, and we always come back to the same answer..and that is BOMES. ;)

    Hope that answers your question.

    Thanks for the clarification as22.
I need to get into Bomes. I have just bought a Zero 4 and i want to see what possibilities Bomes can add to the midi side of it.

    No problem Karlos.

BOMES is a beast of a program! I am just using the basic parts of it at the moment, but the possibilities are there with the software. The demo they have is ok but the 20 min cushion to use the demo is just not enough to help you wrap your head around it and TraktorPro. You have to keep opening and closing BOMES. Also the Euro conversion killed me. LOL

I installed iDeneb last night and it completely mangled my hd, had to clean install a primary OS all over again, luckly i just backed everything up yesterday afternoon.

    I just had a breakthrough:
make sure you set the rotaries to relative mode in the zero8 setup

hours of frustration in bomes haha!

so you've got it working on a 64 bit operating system with the old driver? tell me how! i did just find a guy on the korg forums that's made his own drivers so i'll give that a go tomorrow

yea it works like a charm, i use win7X64. i have used it live on many occasions as well, have never had a problem, not once! all i did was installed all the latest drivers(altho latest means a couple years old) and the latest firmware on the mixer and it was good to go. it says on the korg site that the zero series are now compatable with 64 bit systems but the only restriction is that you have to have it on the lowest audio quality settings, like 41 or something like that. i have my latency dropped down low too without any problems, 2 ms, plus i use four decks(timecoded vinyl). as well i have my computer completely optimized for running traktor, that might have something to do with it. but yea, as i stated earlier kord even announced that the zero series is now compatible with 64 bit systems, with one restriction, which in my opinion is fine with me!

can you send me the link to the person who made their own drivers? ill like to take a look at that.
