LE worked fine....pro messed everything up

hey folks

I have a numark mixtrack controller which came with traktor LE. out of the box, everything worked as expected (after some pesky interface issues). After playing with the software for a bit, I decided to upgrade to pro.

but when I installed pro, and updated to the most recent version (1.2.6), I'v run into some issues.

issue 1: only have the buttons/knobs on my controller work now. with LE, like I said, everything worked just fine. after installing pro, the EQ works, as well as the gain, but my fader dosn't do anything.

issue 2: I can select effects, adjust their levels, and turn them on and off....but nothing happens to the sound. not a single effect actually works. not even the 3 basic ones that come with LE, which worked before...

so...what did I miss here? I used the set-up wizard, and combed through all the settings. it all looks the same from my LE version, save for the handfull of aditional settings, but I can't find anything to get this working.

any help would be very much appreciated.

 

can you see midi ctrl light flashing at the top of the screen to say Traktors receiving midi commands when you press a button...!

yes, I can see it flashing when I press buttons, including when I move the fader, however, so I know that the controller is at least being recognized, it's just not doing anything else.

I'll try the suggestion from that other thread and setup the interface separate from the controller....

ok...got my fader working..

but the effects still are busted. like I said above, I can select them, and modify their levels as well as turn them on and off....but there is no change in the sound.

 

in Traktor Pro you have to assign decks to the effects. In LE Decks A&B are pre-assigned to Effects 1&2 respectively

Traktor Pro allows a lot more flexibility in the routing, but you have to assign a deck to an effects unit first (you should see buttons labelled "1" &" 2" in the mixer section of traktor)

 

Did you import the new tsi file that is designed for Pro? There are 2 different tsi's. One for pro and one for LE.

I use a mixtrack with pro and I love it. I use the default mapping and I made a custom mapping that emulates my CDJs.

I Love this controller. It does have less buttons than some of the more expensive controllers... But I play trance and the controller does everything I need it to do.


Once you import the Pro config file.. you have to push down on the effects select button on the controller to turn the FX on and off on the mixer panel of controller. Once the FX 1 or 2 is lit up... then you can turn on the effect with the effect-on button on the controller and you are good to go.

The newest version is 1.2.7 BTW. You should run Service Center again.
