LED brightness adjustment

The off state level adjustment seems to do nothing below 10 (ie its completely off) but after 10 the level is too bright in darker environments

It would be good if we could get this to graduate more evenly at the low end

It's the characteristic of LED lights. It won't operate below a certain voltage.

 

I suspected that to be the case, but wasn't sure. Maybe in the future when Kontrol S4 II is released they could use a different kind of LEDs or find another solution to support lower brightness setting.

 

The Kontrol X1 does not have this problem and it uses Led's, no?

 

It's not a LED issue that's for sure. Or it's a hardware problem (Led driver) OR a mix of Hardware & Firmware. High likely a simple firmware problem.

 

Yeah, I am hoping its a firmware issue and fixable in software. It's not the end of the world but it sure would be nice if you could tell the LEDS to soften up like the X1 does.

 

I agree. I tried to add some brightness to the led so I can see better in dark booth but this limitation makes them too bright...

 

Are you using the Power Supply unit? The LEDS are at 50% without it.

My Off State is set at 6 and works for me pretty well.

 

In my case yes I am using the power supply. There seems to be no middle ground with mine. My 2 Kontrol X1's work fine, however and very low levels.

 

Ive been able to dim mine up and down fine, in the settings... ?

 

On mine anything 1-3 results in no lights pretty much and as soon as you hit 4 it lights up quite bright. Seems to be no middle ground.

Perhaps this is a manufacturing issue that has been corrected? How long have you owned your S4?
