I recently bought the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 and I was manually mapping everything but then I notice that I had a channel level led. There is no button for it so how do I find out which cc or note it is?

Thanks that helped a little bit. But I can't find Meters in my Controller manager to assign the leds.
    I'm using Traktor Scratch Pro.

EDIT: The only thing I found out is that my CH Level is Hex: Bn 02 hh
I don't know how to map hex so.. 2nd question how do I map that? :p

Add Out --- Mixer --- Meters --- Deck Pre Fader L+R (this represents your channel gain) ///// Deck Post Fader L+R (this represents channel volume). Both are rather important but looks like the SB only utilizes one or the other. If you have a button to spare, you could use a modifier so that, while the button is held it shows one set of meters and when you let go it shows the other set.

I don't really know how to translate Hex but, I would try CC 2 on CH 12 to start with. Logic: I think the list shows that MIDI out messages are sent on channel 12. I'm pretty sure Bn = CC, and 2 seems like an obvious choice.

Hope you sort it out, good luck!

Okay I can try that but the problem is there is no Meters at Mixer.

Hmm.. IDK, different options for Scratch?? Maybe try the gain output command for the pre-fader level and volume fader for the post-fader?

Since the exact assignment for your hardware meter is sort of an undetermined variable, I would use something more predictable for testing purposes.. For example, experiment mapping different output commands to your performance pads until you find the correct command. Then, once you know which command you need, experiment with the assignments until you get a signal on your meter.

Maybe post a thread at DJTechTools, there's some brilliant guys over there in regards to mapping. You'll get more traffic and more ideas quicker over there.

Any way you could send me the file for the mapping when you've got one that's working?

Or anyone else that can help me out, message me!

Could somebody please send me the mapping as well? That would be great because I would love to use my SB2 with Traktor instead of Serato..

    Please message me if so!!

Don't take any offense here guys but, I personally feel that it's a bad idea to rely on someone else's controller mapping. Things change over time and maps can eventually become useless if they're not updated to follow these changes.

Once you wrap your head around basic mapping concepts, it becomes rather simple and can be quite rewarding to do yourself. I strongly recommend learning the process. There are many tutorials covering every mapping concept you can imagine that will keep you going when you get stuck. When you run into something too complicated to figure out on your own, then ask for help. The best mapping resource, in my opinion, is the DJTechTools forum. There are a lot of knowledgable guys over there who are capable of pulling off some of the most complicated Traktor mappings imaginable.

Here is a great article/video from the DJTT blog that can get you started from the beginning. There are also links in there to more advanced stuff. Let me know if any of you get stuck, I'm happy to help as well!

I fixed my problem! I agree FrankieFilth, this weekend i got the time to take a look into it and i'm definitely gonna map everything myself. It's going to take some time but I'm sure it will be rewarding. Thanks for the insight!

Sorry, but I don't see this logic at all. If a mapping for the DDJ-SB2 that works with Traktor 2.7 is released, then surely that will indefinitely work with a DDJ-SB2 and Traktor 2.7. Even with newer versions of Traktor, it will require just a few tweaks.

Basically, it seems as though Pioneer are in bed with Serato, and refuse to offer any glimmer of support for Traktor as they know most people would rather use Traktor than Serato.

In the meantime, getting a fully functioning mapping for Traktor is a tedious and buggy pain in the arse.

I think the real reason no-one has simply posted a fully functioning mapping, is that no-one can properly get this controller working with Traktor.

Probably that simple, but possibly not. And who's going to tweak it? My point is simply a notion of self-reliance.

Maybe nobody who's mapped it cares to share their work. Maybe nobody who's capable of completing a map worth sharing, actually owns this controller. I doubt it's any different than mapping any other Pioneer controller. It's just MIDI.
