ive been trying to use the legato feature with no luck at all ...been tryin to built for example pitch shifted notes of a bass and that simply wasnt happening propertly .

when im trying to do that , im using a glide module on the element i want to shift pitch ( legato button turned on of course ) and limit the polyphony to 1 voice on that instrument like i supposed to ...basicly what im gettin in the final result is somekind of pitch shift but i can actually hear the note breaking at the point where it should shift and not as one gliding note like i always wanted to hear.

maybe im missing something ??? any ideas ???

    btw im on sx2 , kontakt 1.53

Are you trying to simulate bass slides between notes, so you have a smooth glissando effect?

thats exactly what im up to , its just seem to me that this feature is impossible . ( i have tested legato before on some virtual synths and it works just as it supposed to , the shifting between the notes is smooth and presented like one gliding note playing ...what i cannot get in kontakt ).

    any ideas ??

OH I think I know what you're missing - the notes must overlap in order to get that smooth glide effect.

Hey, didn't think you were a moron. I actually didn't know they had to overlap, something that was cleared up for me on this forum.

Slide examples? Not really, I don't use the feature very much.

    Yea

Why is this feature so poop? I've stopped bothering with it and just the set the pitch bend to full + -. but its not the same.

For a creative sampler Kontakt lacks some really basic features.

    'Glide' working properly
    The 'Lfo synching' working properly

    Being 2 of them.

If any knows how to get the glide doing something interesting post here.

Right got that out of my system :)

We're getting a lot of things out of our systems lately.

legato isnt that popular its just another type of synthesis im working with . dont forget that u have to combined it with a pitch glide module and restrict the instrument's polyphony to 1 to make it work and sound smooth .
the thing with legato is that it supposed to be accurate with the pitch thats why im using it .

somehow i cant get things sound right like i wanted to .

So, will Kontakt 2 have decent glide/legato?

    Hi there,

K2 will provide extensive possibilities via the new script processor. So to a certain degree it will be what you make it via the user library!

The key here is that the scripting allows you to start samples at any point during their length. We will also provide a sample legato script as part of the script library inside the K2 box.

    Best,
    Markus
