I upgraded to Leopard, 10.5.6, and used the Leopard installer patch for my Traktor 3 le software. I just used the program and the bcd mixer for the first time since the upgrade and immediately noticed the songs kept falling out of sync (even with the bpms matched and the sync button pressed) if they were allowed to play for longer than 30 seconds. That might be an error on my part and not a software/hardware issue, I don't know.

However, it's always been the case - even before the upgrade - that the songs start to sound as if they are skipping so I usually remedy that by changing the latency during a mix. I did that this time and after the latency was changed the sound stopped and the bcd mixer stopped working with the software. Now, with BCD 3000 (agg.) selected as the audio device for the soundcard, it no longer works. I can press play and the cue buttons on the program and the mixer will light up correspondingly, but the track does not play and none of the other buttons/nobs on the mixer work.

I suspect that Traktor 3 le does not work well with Leopard despite the patch since other users with Leopard have had similar issues, but I don't want to believe it. Any help?

The situation has gotten progressively worse, plus on the RARE occasions when it works momentarily, the bpm jumps around making a clean mix impossible. I've searched the entire forum and followed all the advice given by those with a similar issue/setup and have come to the following conclusion:

TRAKTOR 3 LE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LEOPARD and I think NI should make this fact known before others waste their money on the software.

Just calm down a bit and try the following:

    - Open Traktor LE
    - go into audio/midi
    - open the aggregate device editor
    - set clock of created BCD device to the outputs

    This should help.

Thanks for responding. I tried that about a dozen different times as those steps are posted in another thread, but it still doesn't work. I apologize if my frustration appears over the top, but whenever I decide to try and figure out/fix the issue, the result is always just two or three hours of my time wasted - and this is how it's been going for almost a month now.

I've decided to just sell my bcd 3000 and the software - I'm simply too annoyed to deal with it anymore.

lol dude, you're a behringer user... you got serious balls to talk about wasting money

    - unplug your bcd3000
    - uninstall the drivers
    - throw that POS out of the window (or against the wall)
    - film the impact in slo-mo and put it up on youtube
    - get a decent controller

    ooh, I'm bad aren't I

Touché. Is there a brand you recommend? I intend to stay away from software djing for a bit, but if I return it will be with Serato Scratch. Oh, and yes you certainly are bad, I'm cowering as I type . . .

pretty much anything but behringer :D have you taken a look at the vestax controllers (vci-100, vci-300?).
I use timecoded vinyl myself, but I've given the vci series a go (there is even a rotary version of the vci-100) and they're definitely quality controllers.

there's also this big-ass all-in-one controller from numark called NS7... not bad (except for the crossfader), but certainly overpriced at the moment - I say wait it out if you want one.

Yes you are very naughty but its bloody funny
Id like to see that video.

@Jaydean, Tranqui is pretty spot on though the VCI is a great controller if you need jog wheels. Also look at the Faderfox range if you dont need jog wheels.

Yeah, I have the latest version.

In the preference window, when choosing a sound card device, originally the options included BCD 3000 twice and BCD 3000 (aggregated) once (in addition the buit-in options). But since the upgrade, when I connect the BCD, sometime the BCD 3000 option is there four times, and the BCD (aggregated) option three-six times. I always thought that was odd, but did not know what to make of it. The only way I can get the software & controller to work is if I choose built-in output as my sound card device, but then the sound goes through my laptop speakers and there is no way for me preview tracks via headphones for the controller is literally that, a controller. So I am thinking it is the controller . . .?

Thanks for your assistance by the way, cause I have no clue.

How did you update to Leopard? Archive and Install? It seems there is something messed up with core audio...

I still insist that behringer is at fault.

The upgrade was done by the folks at the apple store when my laptop was being serviced for a HD failure (meaning I don't have the CD). Is the core audio issue - if that is indeed what the problem is - fixable through a reinstall, or even a downgrade to Tiger? Would that also explain why songs slowed down and grew out of sync over the length of a track? With bpms matched at, say, 135, and manually beat matching, I would get a smooth mix, but after thirty seconds or so I would see that one track slipped to 134.9. After matching them again, it would slip once more so songs were perpetually out of sync. One last question: if it is core audio, would there be issues with other applications, such as itunes or quicktime (because those seem to be working fine) or would it only affect midi devices?

    Thanks again.

It could be fixed in several ways, this is somehow a unique case.

You could do a fresh install of Leopard after cloning your current system to an external disc and get your data from the external disc after install via the migration assistant. So you have a fresh system.

By the way, it cannot be the fault of the BCD as it has no dedicated driver and runs natively in Core Audio.
