Had Massive for a couple of months now and I am really loving it! There is one simple feature which I would really like that I feel would lead the way to providing the Massive user with many more modulation options:-

At the moment you have the option to trigger each LFO when it recieves a "note on" command using the "Restart" option. How about being able to select which midi channel each envelope and LFO receives this "note on" command. Also, to be able to limit this "note on" command which triggers the envelope/LFO "Restart" to a specific keyboard range, would be useful. You could then trigger an envelope/lfo whilst also playing notes on Massive all from the same MIDI channel. Obviously the notes used to trigger the envelope/LFO "Restart" could not be used to play the actual sound.

    So you could, for example:-

1)Create a gate effect using the envelopes/LFOs triggered manually.
2)Using an arpeggiator plugin, you are not limited to the LFO's/envelopes restarting on every note.
3)You could switch LFOs/Envelopes at any point. For example, using two Steppers, you could have one sequence of notes for a verse and another for the chorus.

I feel this feature would really add a whole new dimension to Massive. Plus another 4 envelopes and LFOs would be really useful!

Maybe I haven't explained my request too well.........

I think it would be great to be able to set separate midi receive channels for each LFO and Envelope. You could then restart each LFO and Envelope whenever you wanted. Just think of all those extra modulation options it would give you!

Thats an interesting idea... I haven't heard of any other synths that have it though.

I'm not sure about your 2) Arp question as I don't use plugins like that, but 1) and 3) are already easily possible using the Macro controls.

ie. for 1 you can set up a Macro to fade in a LFO/Stepper for gating. for 3 you can set up 1 Macro with opposite modulations on 2 different Steppers to crossfade between them.

Hi there Jeremy. These sort of things are so hard to explain in text!

The problem for me is the control "phase" of LFOs or envelopes - as in making sure they start and stop at the points in their cycle where I want them to start and stop.

    Example:-
Massive recieves note on/off commands from an arp plugin. The arp plugin is running at 1/16 ratio. Massive plays the notes produced by the arp.

Massive has a filter modulated by an LFO running at 1/1 ratio. This LFO will restart evertime it recieves a note from the arp, so the LFO never completes it's cycle.

If you could set the LFO to receive from a different midi channel, you could then restart Massive's LFO at the same time as you send a note from the sequencer to the arp - rather than the LFO restarting everytime it recieves a note from the arp.

I know I can setup a Macro to fade in a LFO/Stepper. But all I would be doing is fading the LFO/Stepper in and still having no control over when the LFO/Stepper starts or stops.

What it really boils down to is being able to trigger an LFO/Stepper (or even envelope) separately from triggering a sound in Massive.
