I'm trying to apply lfo gating of an audio signal by using a multiply. Not a tremelo, but actual gating.

But when the modulation is zero there is no audio signal.

Is there a way to output a 1 when the mod level is 0?

Also if you only use a small amount of modulation it then multiplies the audio signal with a very small number so the volume goes really quiet.

What is the best way to achieve lfo gating.

Hmm. Uploads not working on new forum, so I've put an ensemble up on the Museum of Techno website: Here it is, and here's a screenshot.

I hope that's close to what you need.

Sorry, no time to describe it, but have a play with the controls and have a look at the structure: it's doing some simple maths to the LFO output so that when the depth of the LFO is set to 0, the result is a constant value of 1, and when the depth is 1, the output ranges between 0 and 1.

    Hope that helps

Sure- use a compare/equal module. Feed a constant of zero into one of the inputs, and wire from the LFO output to the other input. Wire the = output to an add module, and also go from the LFO output to the add module.

When the LFO's > 0, it'll send a 0 value- nothing will be added to the LFO output. When it = 0, it'll send a 1 value- hence, the output of the add module will be 1.

Thanks m3m and ew. It's been bugging me for a while now.
