Library Help

I am wondering if I have things correct here with there being 2 folders now for the Kontakt library since the 2.1 update, or is there only suppose to be 1? I guess the new files would overwright the old ones in that caes. This is what it looks like now. Any help would be appreciated.

 

No, there should only be one. I've seen the installers do that before, though...

What I'd do is to move them all into one folder to begin with. Move the VSL library into your folder with the majority of the content. Move the content of the third library folder into their respective folders in your main library. Now, run the 2.1 updater again and only install the library. If it creates new folders again, move the contents into the proper folders in the main library. Delete all the empty folders and rebuild your database.

Thanks ew, ok, I did as you said (I think). It was a little confusing because I had originaly created a library folder on my own in the D drive. The 2nd VSL folder had only 1 file (04 Legato Instruments-Cello ens 8 (legato) that overwrote the original. The Steinway added some (there are now 12 Steinways plus 3 Multi's). Akkord overwrote some. To tell the truth, its a bit confusing and I'm left with the feeling that I may not have it right. I wish there was a formal list that I could check it against. However, I rebuilt the database as you suggested and all seems fine and everything now loads properly (except for my cdxtract converted Emu files, that can't find them, but I search and it finds them and I save this and all is ok). I think some extreemly clear instructions on the library and what is the correct content would clear up some of the rebuilding database issues that seem to be happening. For instance, there were previous updates that included files for the library. Are those still needed? I have read that the PMI Steinway updates are not supported now. Are those overwritten with 2.1? things like that leave me a bit confused and possibly others. It would be nice if NI could give us a clear instruction on this. All in all I love Kontakt and just want to make sure I have the correct files. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
