Ok so now that the issue with iOS 8 seems to be fixed, will this adapter work with the audio 2 mk2 ?

This is lightning to "normal" USB and the Audio 2 mk2 is mini USB. Maybe NI will sell a cable for connecting the Audio 2 in the future but I really need a solution now. I just hope that this Apple adaptor will work...

I see, so that explains why it isn't mentionned.

Then maybe this is what you need to know :

Connecting your NI Device to an iOS Device with Lightning Dock Connector
All current iOS devices released after the iPad 3 and iPhone 5 are equipped with a Lightning dock connector. If you own an iOS device with Lightning dock connector, the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter is required to connect the NI USB to 30-pin cable to your iOS device.

Important Note: We only support original Apple adaptors, which are available at the Apple Store or authorized Apple retailers. Third-party or fake adaptors will not work properly. Find more info about identifying fake adapters here on the Apple support pages.

Proceed with the steps below in order to connect your NI device to an iOS device with Lightning dock connector:

      • Connect your NI device to the external power supply.
      • Connect the NI USB to 30-Pin cable to the USB port of your NI device.
      • Connect the Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter to the 30-pin end of the NI USB to 30-Pin cable.
      • Launch your audio application on the iOS device, for example TRAKTOR DJ.
      • Connect the Lightning connector end of the Apple Lightning to 30-pin Adapter with the dock connector of your iOS device.

The NI device will be detected and can now be used.

Regarding your question about the power supply : TA2 should be powered by your iPad but I don't expect your battery to hold very long running both TDJ and delivering power to TA2, so I guess an external power supply will come in handy.
