This is a long term FYI.

Today, WINE is already good enough to run Valve windows games in linux.
The linux kernel and overall stability are far far superior than the windows kernel. Te decades of unix-legacy really add up here.

I expect that in the coming years Microsoft will move more and more to Linux, so I would like Traktor to be ready and even take advantage of this.

    Extra info:

"A third factor is Proton, a Wine-based emulation or compatibility layer developed by Valve for running Windows Steam games on Linux. In Raymond's view, Windows could become an emulation layer like Proton over a Linux kernel using technology that's already up to the task of running business applications. "

Some games run on Linux, most don't and most companies have no interest in providing support either because it can easily turn into a huge money sink where support is concerned.

Fact is still that Linux is unreliable when it comes to long term support. A sound driver which works flawlessly can easily get removed or replaced because of the whim of a single developer. It has happened in the past, it's still happening now.

Now imagine having to rewrite huge parts of your code because of those changes?

That is true. This was just a FYI.
My point is that it may happen that Microsoft may take this path in the very long term, maybe with a fork, and in that case the reliability and stability would go up with significnat contributions from MS itself

After seeing Maschine+, I'm sure NI is working towards a standalone S4/S5 hybrid. (Skate to the puck and also reduce your support issues with mac/Win OS updates that kill people's setups.) They already have a linux reference platform to run their apps and a Traktor standalone is certainly not going to run Windows, macOS or iOS.

What is the advantage of valves wine? All you need is

    - the "staging" version from the official WINE project
    - linvstconvert to use the VST plugins in your Linux DAW
    - the WINEASIO driver if you want to use the standalone applications with jack audio
