List of Useful Suggestions!

I love the workflow of sampling and laying down drum patterns in maschine. However I have a few suggestions that I think would be really beneficial to a lot of users and save time and frustration. A lot of these are very common in other DAWs and production software, so honestly maschine is behind on a lot of things. These are just a few suggestions that came to mind, and Im sure there are a lot of other things.

1) MUTE AND SOLO AUTOMATION. This is a no brainer. I have never came across another program where this feature is not available. This would be extremely helpful for quick arrangement changes and would improve workflow. We should not have to do work arounds and delete notes etc to get a similar effect. Mute and solo automation should be a feature without question.

2) Plugin bypass automation.

3) Recording automation with knobs should be smooth and seamless. However it typically results in choppy automation that skips parameters. This defeats the wanting to automate in the first place if you can not get the desired result.

4) LINE TOOL in DRAWING automation. This would be an effective work around for #3 if it was actually a feature.

5) Volume modulation through LFO. Currently this is not possible. Sure you could play around with the attack but it is not the same effect. A "tremolo" style volume modulation through LFO would be great especially for samples and chops.

6) ARRANGEMENT! Arranging in Maschine is trash compared to other DAWS! The maschine has always had a lot of POTENTIAL but it is not 2012 anymore. Arrangement should be seamless. Scenes and ideas mode suck. Ideas mode is completely useless. The whole idea of scenes is constricting. Patterns should be able to go across scenes without expanding the scene. This effectively kills creativity and song arrangement. Free range with the patterns would be great, or something similar to a block mode in Reason. I could do away with the scenes completely.

7) RECORDING. We should be able to record live instruments directly into the arranger or pattern WITHOUT sampling it to a pad and playing the pad through midi. Again, it is not 2010... and this kills creativity. We should be able to record a "solo", for example, straight into the arranger and across multiple "scenes". Additionally adding busses would help too but that is not too high on my complaint list.

8) It would be great if we could arrange a song "live". However I believe adding solo and mute automation would do the trick.

Now I know what a lot of people will say "Maschine is not a DAW" "Export to another program".. but seriously.. these are just a few things that should have been added YEARS ago!!! We should be able to get a good pre-mix and arrangement before sending to another program.

Not sure if anyone from NI will read this or care to implement these changes, but without them you guys are limiting yourself. Maschine is definitely behind on a lot of things.. I use maschine almost every day and a lot of my creative time is taken away due to looking up "work arounds" for things that really should be built into the software. Im to the point where I will most likely be switching over to Abelton in the near future. Listen to your users! We love the product and are trying to help. Stop adding useless updates! Fix common sense issues, please!
