you do not take full advantage of the current Komplete 8 crossgrade you are a FOOL!

there is no way in hell to not do so, if you break every component in Komplete 8 down to an equal dollar amount it is unreal... It's a great buy at the regular price, but this half off special is in effing sane...

GET IT if you have not done so already...

    that is all...

    UB, where you at?

Agreed. I would be on this like a fly on a stack of turds - but I already bought both Maschine and K8 at double the price a year ago.

wow... but who knew this coming... i had been waiting to get the extra cash, but when the price cut happened I had to do it.

Kontakt alone is worth that price and the sounds... I'm an N.I. stan!

the free stuff Native Instruments gives out is better than the paid stuff of a lot other companies out there...

As I said in the other thread of this nature...

I don't want or need it and buying something just because the deal is "unreal" or "effing sane [sic]" is a definitive example of false economy.

By all means, though, if you struggle to make music with the tools you already have and have some spare cash to burn, get on this right now. ;)

I love Maschine and K8, and the integration is great. But we don't need to be shaming people into going for the crossgrade if they don't feel the need.

We also don't need to be smugly dismissing people who see value in Komplete. The sounds it offers can be a big source of inspiration, and the enormous array of presets allow you to get to work on a track quickly once you know your way around the library. (And if you don't put the time into learning the instruments and the library, you will likely be overwhelmed, and your investment will go underutilized.)

I don't tend to use presets in my final tracks, and I never use pre-made loops, but Komplete provides an excellent sketch pad for tracks in their nascent stages.

I'm sure you and I would both agree that tools don't make you a better songwriter or producer. And we would probably agree that most people likely never get beyond scratching Komplete Ultimate's surface. But I won't begrudge a fellow artist his or her choice of tools. It's what you do with them that counts.

I don't think I did dismiss the people who see value in Komplete or, indeed, the value of Komplete - it is a valuable resource of sounds and tools for many people. I just offered an opinion on this Komplete deal and any others like it with the sentiment that a good (or even amazing) deal does not equal necessity like the OP was suggesting.

And the smugness you detected was nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek joke. Calm yourself. :)

Really, I think our initial reactions the OP's statements were the same.

I would actually say if you struggle to make music with what you have you should definitely NOT buy Komplete... There is nothing that is provided in Komplete that will make you a better musician or make your music for you..

Sure, if you can produce some good stuff there are bits in Komplete that will give extra polish or depth to your track...but Komplete cant turn a turd into a steak..:D

manyun i can make music with rubber bands and dish pans... not to mention sing, rap, write, and DJ..;. but I can dig it
    ---
and by the way, i don't think I implied that Komplete would make your music complete and grammy approved... simply that the deal shoud not be ignored as if it were not a great one...

    LOL. Superiority complex?

Who said anything about struggling to make music? What a stupid conclusion to draw form this thread. Some of us think this is a good deal and decided to talk about it. If you don't, fine - but no excuse to act like a tool. Next time just stay out of the thread. What purpose does it serve for you to jump in to every thread and say how much better you are than everyone? Seems like you might be pretty insecure to need to do that.

If I wasnt moving city to city I would of jumped on this. It's still tempting but in all honesty I dont like relying too much on vsts. I love massive and I like Absynth, and a couple others, but not all of them.

It's a steal of a deal though and If I run into some money quick I would grab it no doubt.

They always do this before the next version comes out. It's just a way for them to sell off excess stock of K8 before releasing K9 (and maybe Maschine 2 as well as that's on offer too) probably next month.

Personally I'm going to wait for that before upgrading.

You don't know that. There was no warning before Maschine Micro was released, what makes you think they they'd would give a heads up now?

Are we having a bad day Mr36?

I think a painter that has an 8 colour palette would be much happier if someone traded him a palette with 200+ colours, for the same money, don't you think?

I may never use all the grand pianos etc but Kontakt5, FM8, Massive, Absynth and 120GB of sounds?
I sold R-5 and battery for 185euros:p...and still got a few goodies in double to sell...

It is good economy to support a developer, it gives more $$ to further develop software...

The next version of Maschine about to be released is 1.8 which is still in beta testing. The way Maschine Mikro was released is not relevant to speculation about the release of Maschine versions, in case you're assuming "Maschine 2" would be just a hardware controller release like Maschine Mikro.

Why not? A new controller isn't out of the question. Maybe even new versions of the existing controllers. Also maybe 1.8 is the last of the free updates and they might launch version 2 of the software as a paid for upgrade. Who knows? Certainly not me or you.

What I do know, is that every time NI release a new version of a product (software or hardware) they always stick the older version on sale, just like now.

I'm not sure there's enough new content here or on the horizon for a K9. Well a K9 ultimate anyway. 2 Kontakt libraries, 1 Reaktor ensemble and no x.0 upgrades... er that's it

I'm just pointing out the obvious that 1.8 is the next version of maschine that will be released next. There's just no way "Maschine 2" will be released next month or anytime soon.

That doesnt mean that every time NI has a sale on their products that they're gonna be releasing a new version.
