Live Input + Skanner

Hi all,

I'd like to insert some kind of live buffer sample lookup module into the regular "sample lookup"s within the Skanner ensemble structure. Basically, I'd like to be able to record 8 or 16 beats of material right into Skanner.

Any ideas for such modules/macros that could get this job done?

unless you are a very advanced Reaktor Programmer, don't even think about trying this. and forgive me, if you were that advanced, you would know which modules/macros to use.

i think of myself as an intermediate builder, but from what i understand of Skanner, getting the Oscillators to scan a freshly sampled sample in the same way they do inserted samples is a very difficult thing to achieve. i have no ideas:

the only thing i can think of is recording something and then Dragging n Dropping it into one of the Lookups.

having said all of that, CList did make a live sampling version of the Sample Lookup and uploaded it on one of these threads:

beware, these threads go on for pages and pages.

also, you will still need to be very advanced to get Skanner to work with one of his 'Lookup' Samplers.

CList's ideas were based on the concept behind Tim Exile's live sampling tool. There are 'Glex' Macros in the Reaktor Library if you want to take a look.

Thanks for the tips Sowari! I was coming to the inevitable conclusion that for now, Skanner's setup is beyond the reach of my skills. I do wish to continue my project/goal of creating a live "sampler" device however:

Something that keeps an 4 or 8 bar buffer of incoming audio and when activated, switches into "sampler" mode, with pitch control via midi.

 

try the User Library, there re a few live sampling uploads.
