load studio drummer as group

Hi,

I find it nice to load the different drums of a drum set on different sounds so that I can play them in pad mode with my machine micro. When I go to Complete control over groups, all 16 sounds are assigned kick, hi-hat, tom, etc. But if I go to All Instruments and load a kit from the studio drummer, e.g. Jazz Garage kit, the whole kit will be loaded on one sound and the single drums can be controlled by different keys of my master keyboard. Can't I also load these kits onto the 16 sounds so that I can play them with the pads of my machine micro?

give this video a look see, he does the routing with Battery, but also can be done with Kontakt. one thing I am not sure if he mentions or not is that you need to right click the group, go to "Group Midi Batch Setup" and choose "Sounds to MIDI Notes". Also, the routing "Back to Maschine" that he does in Battery does not work in Kontakt, you can just forget about that part and it will still work... AND, you will need to adjust the root note of the pads to C1 as that seems to be the default for drum sounds...if you don't, you may trigger loops instead of individual sounds. Hope it all makes sense and good luck. if you get it to work, don't forget to save the group, then you can recall it at any time.
