When I am in logic and I have Kontakt connected to a track and I try, in the Library tab, to load an instrument belonging to one of the libraries, e.g. the "Kontakt Factory Selection" or "Hyperion Strings Elements", as seen in the first screenshot, the instrument will be opened in the standalone Kontakt player, which is not useful of course! It should be opened in Logic. The only way to get it to work as intended is to go to the "Files" tab in Kontakt and navigate to the required instrument within the required library, select it and load it. Only then will it open as the track instrument within Logic.

My question is, is this a normal behaviour or am I doing something wrong?

    MAC OS Mojave 10.14.6
    Logic Pro X 10.4.8
    Kontakt 6.2.1 (R42)

That sounds quite bizarre... I can see no way how would loading an NKI from Libraries tab open standalone Kontakt... Care to post a video?

Thanks EvilDragon for the quick reply. I made a screen recording with quicktime but cannot upload it. It says not allowed extension! Do you know which format it should be in, or how to create a permitted format? Thank you.

I'm having similar problems in Logic. My non-NI Kontakt libraries have 'Browse' rather than 'instruments'. I browse, choose an instrument, and then it opens in Standalone. I have libraries I can no longer use in Logic, only in standalone

If "Browse" shows rather than "Instruments", then that means that the path to the library is not correct, so that needs to be fixed.

To check what the current path to library is, open Native Access, under "Installed Products" find the library that has the issue, then click on the library image. A section to the right will open and you will see Installation Path tab, click it. Now check in Explorer/Finder if at that exact path you can see .nicnt file. If you can't, the path is wrong, and to fix it:

    1. Rename the folder in which the library is located (make sure Kontakt is not instantiated)
    2. Open/instantiate Kontakt
    3. You will see "Locate" now instead of "Browse" for that particular library
    4. Rename the library folder back to how it was
    5. Click "Locate" and browse to that folder

What is crucially important: the library folder is the one in which you can see .nicnt file. If it's a level above or below, it will not work, you will see "Browse" instead of "Instruments".

I do not have the same problem as Gloppo has. As you see from my initial screen shot it shows "Instruments" under each library. My problem is when I open an instrument from there it opens Kontakt (standalone). I tried to send a screen video but the forum does not accept Quicktime format, but neither is it accepting MP4 files (they're greyed out).. I don't know what format/extension is valid here.

Upload to Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. then post the link here.

Ah! Well yeah, you're not using it as intended, kinda :) You're clicking on the down arrow, then "Open containing folder", which will of course open Finder... and from there you're NOT in your DAW anymore, so of course browsing for NKIs and double-clicking them will open Kontakt standalone...

If you want to load an instrument inside the plugin, you have to click the "Instruments" button, then browse to your wanted instrument, then double-click to load it!

Evil Dragon, is there a faster way to do this? I am using your method and it is working but most all of my libraries in Ultimate 12 are going to have to have this done to them. (I had to move ports when I added a usb hub and it changed the name of my drive) That being said, I really would hate to have to reinstall everything because I have the libraries on an SSD. Thanks for any help.

It's as fast as possible unless you want to manually edit registry/plist...
