What's up everyone. I was wondering if there were any official or legit instructions on how to load in sounds from other NI products? I've been messing around with Massive and am looking forward to the other synths that come with KU but haven't found any official instructions on integrating custom made sounds from these NI products into Maschine.

so far, my komplete-sounds show up in the maschine-library so i can easily browse the presets of all instruments from the controller instead of loading the vst and then browsing presets for this particular instrument.
what i did was installing maschine, then komplete and then add the libs in maschine. if it doesn't work, i remember there being plenty videos on utube.
edit: software up-to-date? should be the second thing to check

Thank JK. Not so much worried about browsing actual libraries and such? I know with all established NI libraries, you can browse them from the hardware. Basically what I am doing is opening Massive (for example..and theoretically the same for the other synths and sound design programs from NI) in stand alone mode and starting from scratch to create a sound, then save it in Massive. My issues is, I don't know how to get those particular sounds into Maschine. I've seen another forum thread mention how to do it, but I'm just wondering if NI has release any official "how to" or if someone has written a legit step by step on this subject.

ooh i get it.. I'm sry but I can't help you much there, came across this issue aswell like a year ago and lost track in fixing. but do you have something like the sysinternalssuite (if on windows) so you could see where the standalone saves its data? or try to use search&filter options in your filebrowser.
then try to copy and load from within the VST

i fully support your idea to have a tut for this. opening up maschine every time just for the option to save the sound can be pretty distracting ;-)

Not sure I've heard about what you are talking about "sysinternalssuite" but I know that by default, the files are saved into a default folder call projects within the installed directory. So logically thinking, I think by going into Maschines Preferences and Library and adding that folder, it could essentially just add that as a library? However, I know that Massive (as well as other apps) save into their own file extension so Maschine won't recognize them...sigh. You would think with a full on NI ecosystem and NI's software/hardware integration that file integration would have also been considered

    think i got it (maybe?)
    i open up massive standalone
make my sound and "save as" (documents\NI\massive\sounds)
open maschine, go to preferences -> lib -> user -> add \massive
    rescan
go to instruments, press the button "user" et voilà there is my preset.

or am i missing your problem again?

Yep, thats about right.I ended up seeing how to do this (and what you said in the previous post) on a Kontour tutorial from Dubspot. Although I did exactly that and my sounds didn't show up. No worries though, I'm sure it was something I missed or did not do right. I will have another go at it later today.

Yes this is correct. I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I followed a tutorial to make a cool sound in massive, but I when I tried to load the sound straight from the massive vst in maschine all the controls disappeared so I couldn't control it via maschine hardware! But this fixed it up.

If all of your NI versions are up to date any 'User Saved' sounds should by default be saved within instrument folders inside the User Content folder, which should be automatically included in Maschine's User Library folders... all you need to do is rescan the 'User Content' folder in Maschine.

(This feature, called NIS Roundtrip was added in 2.3... you should be able to share your User preset pool between Maschine, Komplete Kontrol and the Standalone instrument plugins)
