When I try to load a song from the ITUNES node it takes again a very long time before the track can be played.
This happened also in version 1.1.1

I notice TP is "updating" all my mp3 files? Does this cause the big delay?
Also in the Itunes node there is a 'folder with A on it" next to the magnifying glass (column 1) - what does this mean?
    ---
Update: when TP updated all tracks everything works well

    UNTIL:

I shut down & restart TP again ... again updating ... again waiting ...
    (this has been reported)

No offense, but did you read the important notes? ;-)

3.1 General Notes and Known Issues

    - Windows: Since Traktor does automatically activate all available
Midi Output Ports your Midi events might trigger the internal
Midi Music Player. In that case please reconfigure the Output Ports
    to the needed devices.
    - Opening the Explorer Node (or adding tracks to collection from
itunes) might cause a sluggish behavior of Traktor since Traktor
needs to update all filetags which consumes processor power
    and
    especially affect weak computers

    Sound like this is it.

The thing I don't really get here (after glimpsing at the offline version of Serato): Serato has no trouble what so ever in reading from iTunes library. You don't even need to fill up the collection... While Traktor takes ages to open it's own collection, plus then takes another couple of ages to open iTunes's collection.

Must be some underlying reason in how Traktor and Serato treat the collection different. But it's quite a pain, since I would love to have all my playlists in 1 program, not scattered around 2 programs.

Darrien, I read this. And for sure this must be fixed. Or at least we must have again the option to disable the "updating feature" which is rubbish. It is too slow and takes ages before all "updating" is done.
Without a fix or possibility to disable this, no 1.2 for me.

on a related note, is the track artwork showing in the itunes node again, or is artwork still disabled?

why they couldn't make this 'itunes node updating' a preference on/off switch, i don't know...

This doesn't mean that Traktor is going to re-write tags for every track in the iTunes library, does it?

I have 22,000 tracks, and most of them will never even be played in Traktor. Plus, this would obviously reset the modification date for the whole library, which would not only wipe out mod dates that I actually care about, it would mean that I suddenly have nearly 150 GB of music I have to back up all over again.

    Tell me this isn't true!
