why is absynth (standalone or as plugin) refusing to load samples stored on 2 specific external harddisks? all other NI-instruments (kontakt, kompakt, intakt, battery) are loading samples perfectly. with absynth 2 or 3 I get an error-message. it can't be a write/read related problem, because i use this 2 disks as my maindrives for songs, audiofiles and my audio-library, and there everything is ok, i can read, edit and save any file there...
absynth reads and loads samples stored on any other drive that is connected to my system...
    all drives are lacie d2.

    system: dualgiga G4, OS 10.3.7, 1 G RAM, logic 7.01, motu 896

Are you trying to load .wavs? Absynth can get ornery when asked to load samples in a different format than the one native to the platform it's installed on. PC users can have troubles loading .aifs, and I've heard of issues with Mac users trying to load .wavs.

Have you checked your permissions as far as your samples AND everything in your Absynth folder goes?

yes, i checked permissions, plus, in the info-window of each volume, i checked the checkbox: "ignore owner on this volume"...
