I've successfully installed and authorized my Elektrik Piano (both stand-alone and AU Plugin versions) but I can't seem to find any of the presets or get any sound out of it at all. I've copied the 'Elektrik Piano Library' folder from the installation disc into several different places as well as the 'ElektrikPiano_Lib_part1.nks' file and nothing seems to work. The piano loads up fine but no sound and no presets. What am I doing wrong?!

I'm definitely using the correct path to where I've put the library files but it still loads up with 'EMPTY' in the display.

Ok, it turns out that unlike the way the files are on the CDs, I had to make sure the 'Lib' files were in the same folder AND same level as the 'Instruments' and 'Performances' folders. Sorted.

    Hi,

I tried all but did not resume on my Mac G5 Dual.
Do you have a solution now?

    Best regards,
    Chris

As I said above; if you're at least getting the piano to load up but the display reads empty and there are no presets listed when you press the 'FILE' button - then you just need to check in OPTIONS which folder the samples are coming from. In that folder (this is the important bit) there should be the three .nks files and the 'Performances' and 'Instruments' folders - in other words, the 3 files and 2 folders have to be on the same level ie. not nested independently within other folders.

Thanks, but as i said: the 3 *.nks files are located there and I checked this item also in the options of EP. But nothing happens. The problem is still present, no possibility or menu to load anything.

So, in the OPTIONS of EP, it points to a folder that contains the 3 .nks files AND the 2 folders called 'Instruments' & 'Performances'? All of which you copied straight over from the first installation CD right? I'm stumped mate, sorry.

One guy mentioned that in the OPTIONS menu, he had to manually browse to the correct folder - maybe try that.

Also, did you run it as a standalone first before trying to use it as a plugin? It needs to be run in standalone first after the installation- otherwise the plugin won't find the library.

hi guys. I'm having the same problem. I upgraded to 1.5. 1 worked perfectly fine. When I try to load the patches, nothing loads up. It just flicks on for a split second and then its back to empty...

Anyone know how to fix this? I have the 1.5 library files in the same exact place i have my 1.0 files.

They should be in the same main folder (Elektric Piano Library), but they should have their own subfolders.

Check and see if your path's correct in your options menu in standalone (it should point to the library folder and not the subfolders). If it's wrong, correct it and restart EP.

I had the "no sound" problem too, except I was able to see the patches. I had installed Komplete 5 on a fresh machine, ran all updates, but when I ran Elektric Piano 1.5 and loaded the presets, I was not getting any sound.

I looked in the EP library path, and saw files named "ElektrikPiano_Lib_part1.nkc", "ElektrikPiano_Lib_part2", and "ElektrikPiano_Lib_part3". But I noticed the file extension was "nkc", and not "nks". It is the "nks" files that make up the sound data for the Elektrik Piano library.

So I copied files from the installation DVD into that library path: "ElektrikPiano_Lib_part1.nks", "ElektrikPiano_Lib_part2.nks", and "ElektrikPiano_Lib_part3.nks". After those had been copied to the folder, when I ran the program I could hear it play sound.

I expected the installer would copy over all the files required to get sound out of the instrument, but apparently it missed those rather critical files for the Elektric Piano software. It is remotely possible however, that my firewall might have prevented the installation of those files... very slim possibilty though because it allowed every other file to install. Maybe NI should double-check their installer.

(I also just noticed that the NI forum messages are putting a space between the letters "k" and "c" when it finds "ElektricPiano_Lib_part.nkc". It's supposed to be displaying it as "nkc", without any space.)

    Thanks, Lowkus

    Thank you!

Also had the "no sound" problem and also had to manually copy the .nks files to the library. The installer managed to create the folder and put everything but those files into the EP library folder.

    Again?

After Service Center updated Elektrik Piano, the installer deleted the three .nks files from the Elektrik Piano Library directory. I once again had to copy the files from the DVD.

I have got the same problem with Elektrik Piano. THe contents of the folder seem OK and I have re-copied the monolith files from the DVD.

I have re-installed from the update but this makes no difference. I have tried a re-install from the DVD but part way through the installation I am getting "Error Opening File Elektrikpiano_lib_part1" 1008:6, -35 Drive Not Found. I am using the Leopard patch file.

I get the same thing if I copy the contents of the dvd to a folder on the HDD.

Copying the files from the DVD to HDD works OK.

Hi guys. I'm having the same problem, EP 1.5 just aint loading instruments. I've done everything everyone's suggested here, but still no dice.

    Any blinding insights?

Having experienced the usual dreadful support from NI. i.e. very obvious suggestions then nothing for weeks. I had kind of given up on Elektrik Piano, but strangely after installing the Kontakt 3.5 public beta it has started working again, in stand alone, plug-in, a library (inside K3.5). Not a clue why, other than I always suspected there was some authorisation issue going on.

I am very disappointed with NI's support. The first reply from customer support weren't much more than generic emails and didn't even refer to the very specific issues I raised. Once a couple of further suggestions didn't work I have received no further replys from them despite repeated emails.

No worries, it started working after tinkering a bit more.

unfortunately for me the kore 2 disc tham came with my komplete 5 doesn't have a folder on it with ElekPiano. The files are in there somewhere but i don't "see" them...any one else with that problem?

The files should be located on the Komplete discs, rather than the Kore2 disc.
