For some reason I am logged in on the forums but not logged in to download anything (1.6 Beta for example) when I enter my name and password it comes back as incorrect, even though I am already logged in the forum using the same information. I contacted NI about this a while ago, the response was to enter my name and password. Not that helpful. Anyone know if this requires a totally different password? I've tried resetting--works for forum, not for downloads. I've tried going through the Service Center but the 1.6 Beta isn't listed there.

Yeah I had a huge run around with the beta people trying to get them to re-set my password. Here's their email address, register@native-instruments.de. Make sure you know which email address is linked to your registration.

It took me about 6 emails for them to finally reset my password, but they did it eventually. Just be persistent.

This is your problem. The forums and the support area are completely separate logins. The support area is your e-mail address and password (which is not necessarily the same password as the forum).

thanks for the info. it's bad enough that you have to deal with their stupid numbered password system but to then have two completely different passwords per area seems dreadfully inefficient for a company that has the brains to make something like Maschine.

Numbered password system? You can change your password, you know.

And it makes sense to have two different logins, so people that can be part of the forum who do not actually own any NI products. The forum is a public forum for anyone, the support area is just for NI product owners.

I understand, but it's not like it can't be done another way. Ableton has managed a way to do it, so I'm sure it can't be that complicated. Anyway thanks for clueing me in on the dual login.
