logic 6 + Reaktor 4 help !

(on mac osx)
when i put the reaktor.component in the component folder, i can't start logic, crash
someone can help me ?

 

OK, same situation, sort of with: Mac OS-X 10.2.6 TiBook 1GHz and Hammerfall DSP PC card + Multiface.

Actually, I just installed the update to Reaktor 4.01 myself....

...Now I can't use Logic (5.5.1) at all !!
It just doesn't go past the 'audio units' phase of booting up.

Confirming the same thing as mzink, which is that Logic works fine when removing the 'reaktor.component' from the Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>Components folder.

Standalone seems OK so far, but not really motivated to test it further.

Any ideas out there?

Why did you?

When I installed Reaktor OSX I did no custum installation..I just installed,registered etc..Audio Units do not go in Logics folder but they run off the audio core of OSX..Logic then looks for them from the Apple Audio Units folder.Take them out of Logics!

I installed totally 'plain vanilla'. (who wants to really bother with OS-X?...)

Clicked "Yes" to everything and waited for the installer to do its thing.

This may be a confict with the audio-card drivers, something that may not happen with every configuration. Of course if I had the time and a lab machine, I'd try removing my drivers and seeing if this happens with Sound Manager without the RME PC card host . (also, I am usually not inclined to spend "lab time" when all I was trying to do was to make music)

What card do you have?

I had the same problem until I switched from my localised language to the US flag. Try this and see if it helps.

I have certain problems with the hammerfall dsp and my 1gig powerbook g4.
I wonder if i have faulty hardware or if there is an specific problem with the kombination of the hammerfall dsp and the giga powerbooks.

no luck with R4 as audiounit so far....in Logic 6...doesn't even show up here.

here's a list of the problems so far:

OsX.2.6: no standalone-no Audiounit-no REAKTOR 4

Os 9.2.2:standalone works only with soundmanager.
VST in Logic 6.1 appears as an instrument but no sound(tohugh it receives midi).
doesn't appear as an insert

I'm using a TiBook 800 with 768 mb ram, M-Audio duo, oxygen 8,Reaktor 4.01 and Logic 6.1 on both os X.2.6 an 9.2.2

Hello 3phase,

On my side, everything else has been fine up to the point when I installed Reaktor 4.01...

I have Live 2.0x running, Logic 5.51, Traktor DJ 2.03 , more apps, everything works wonderful.

So I would think that this is a NI / audio units issue, possibly with the particular harware in question, but wondering if any of the NI techies are scanning these messages?....

I think this audio units thing is still very new, and we need to let it settle for a while.

yes...for the while logic dropped vst support...i am sick of the mac
and osx hassle...
somebody knows a real good pc laptop for audio use ?
