reaktor passes the AU validator but Logic 7 hates it. anyone else having better success than me? Logic either craps out after a few notes or bombs when you work through that auto-save dialog on open.

I am still doing most my work in 6.4.2 but did do an evening with L7 and Reaktor, bounced about 6 hours worth of tracks. It did crash in the end when loading a large sample but this is somewhat consistent with my 6.4.2 experience. Given this limited amount of time spent I can only tell you it seemed ok up to that point, 6 hours is obviously more than you have gotten.

bad luck for me, L7.1 and Reaktor 4.1.3

To me it is the less stable plug in my setup and I prefer not using it :-(

I could post in several Logic vs Reaktor topics, the problems are always the same:
    zero stability
sluggish gui (even in easy tasks like browsing presets)
    random sound black outs
loud volume spikes when changin presets, even in NI's ensembles (I hate this!)

And all this on a G5 2x2, 2GB ram, RME multiface, "high" buffer like 256, os X 10.3 (various til .9), Logic PRO 7.1

And it would be a lovable software... too bad they do not seriously test on Mac/Logic. I don't think I'll upgrade

I have put in some heavy usage lately with Logic 7.1 and R5 (they arrived about the same time). Absolutely no problems, even with CPU maxed in Logic because of combination of Reaktor 5, Tritone Valvetone, PSP Mix Saturator, and Altiverb 5. I feel completely secure with this combination and feel like both upgrades addressed and exceeded my expectations. When my CPU is at 100% of course my GUI is sluggish as it is with other apps at full tilt but as long as I can bounce I am cool. Most of recent use has been with R5 library, I did use my 4.1.3 a bit with no problems but not enough to comment with any real confidence as to its performance.

    OS 10.3.8 on a 1 Ghz PB 17 (1 G RAM)

I LOVE the sounds that come out of Reaktor Session but it's the most horrible and buggy program I own. I've tried to get support from NI and they just point fingers elsewhere. I use Logic 7.1, Live 4.1.3 and Bidule and they ALL crash with Reaktor (oh, I even tried Tracktion - crash - crash -crash). NI GUI's are awful, too. I even bought a better computer (from an iBook 1.2G to a 1.8 iMac) hoping the problem would go away... no such luck. Like I said, I LOVE the sounds that come out of Reaktor but NI won't get another dime out of me. Now that the new version is out, I bet the support will get worse for us with the older versions.

My copy is going up on eBay, soon.

If Reaktor was a car it would be a Yugo with Lucas electronics... there goes the myth of superior German Engineering as well. HA!
