Can I use the Step sequencer in logic to program the drums in Battery?

yes, of course. You just have create a new instrument track and load in Battery as the instrument in plug-in slot on the channel strip. Load a kit in Battery 3, then program away in the Logic piano roll and Voila...the midi will play through Battery.

Created a new instrument track and tried to load battery 3 as an audio unit, but it wasn't there. Some of the other programs were, but not B3 and not Absynth. Absynth will work as an audio unit if I load an instrument into the track from Logic, but I still can't get it to make any sounds. B3 is fully installed, in case you thought that was why logic can't use it as an AU.

that's a bit odd...sounds like you are having some Native Instruments issues. Try e-mailing support. They have been very helpful to me in the past trying to work out little kinks like this. I have only recently started using Logic, and it worked right away for me, but I have worked through a good deal of kinks using these instruments with ProTools and as stand-alones. If it is working in your current sequencer it should be working in Logic as well, but it might be having difficulty finding it. Are all of your NI instruments in the same place? And are all of the instruments working as stand-alones?

They are all installed in the same location, and all work as standalones.

are the NI Audio Components in your Components folder? e.g. you should have Battery3.Component.
