hello. i am new to reaktor and i am using it as a plugin to logic.
althogh, i am blown away by the program, i cannot get the
sequencer-based ensembles to run in logic. for example, i cant
get the step- based sequence to run either by sending note
on messages from logic or simply running reaktor using the
internal clock. can anyone help with this?
    thanks!!

    it should work ok.

it's important that you're using a recent version of logic-- i think 4.7 or later, that you're NOT using Reaktor 3.07 on a mac, and last but not least, you need to put the Reaktor plugin on an Audio Instrument track, not an Audio Track (which makes it an effect, rather than an instrument, and doesn't get clock.)

    works fine on my set......

    ....Mac , Logic 5.1.3 and Reaktor 3.07.008 .
With the correct set up of Reaktor as a VST instrument , and Reaktor set to 'VST remote', all my sequence based Reaktor ensembles start to play as soon as I hit 'Play' on the Logic transport bar.
I get great timing, and Reaktor follows all tempo changes in Logic quite nicely.

Hu? Doesn"t work here. Has never worked with any Logic 4.x or 5.x - Reaktor
    3.x version.
Please tell me your secrets. In my lengthy correspondence with them, NI has
never been able to explain how to obtain stable sync. They frankly admit
    there are/were some issues...
You don"t happen to have multiple Reaktor instances running also, have you?

    Hi !!

I'm no expert in all things Logic and Reaktor by any means !!
Just followed the manual on how to set things up.
I only use 'Reaktor Stereo', since it is my understanding that only one instance can currently be open in Logic.
But that one instance works fine.
Just opened 'Obvious101.ens' , with the preset, and when I start the Logic sequencer, the ensemble plays in perfect sync with Logic, and drastic tempo changes are followed very quickly, although they cause a slight lag, but that comes back nicely to a tight sync after a few bars.
No secrets here, just works....does it have to do with improvements in the VST interface department?? I don't know.

and if some of you mac users still can get good sync, you know if you
thought about it you could have logic send sync using a piano roll with 16th
or even 96th notes and convert that note data into sync data in reaktor. but
if you dont want to get your hands dirty then deal with it.
    ;P

    reaktor AND logic

Did you check the midi channel assignment? I believe I had to recerd enable the track for the synch to work correctly. In 5.1.3, it's been working fine. I do crash, but I just renderto disk, and load up in battery. If the midi channel is fine, then check that Logic is sending midi clock.

my solution for logic and reaktor is to wait and in the meantime use that really bad recorder NI provides. It is slowe but reaqlly the only solution as Emagic isn't about to ehlp you. MAybe the two could make better friends now that NI has broken away from steinberg.

Interesting. When I first got reaktor I only used it as a vst plugin. All the non-sequenced based ensembles worked fine provided they were not hogging up the processor. I would have problems with R3 having stuck notes and R3 would not respond to an "all notes off command from logic - this was annoying. But when I got into using the sequenced based ensembles and loop tool type ensembles I ran into many problems which NI USA told me were "limitations" - now I'm still using logic 4.8 and R3.07.008 so I can't say what might be improved in logic 5.x but my problems were things like song pointer information - and the fact that when I've tried to use anything sequenced from the reaktor side it starts when you start logic and does play in sync fine. But what do you do if you want the reaktor loop or sequence to start somewhere later in your song - getting R3's sequenced ensembles to start and/or stop in specific portions of your logic song is not possible as far as I can tell. If anyone knows how to get R3 loop or sequenced ensembles to trigger and stop within a logic song while logic is playing please enlighten me. Thanks,
    Bob Croft

Doesn"t work here either. Using Logic 5.1.3/G4 tower/TiBook. NI admitted
    this is a problem.
