Hello all, new to the forums!

I'm a music tech student at the university of Huddersfield (UK) and i'm learning how to build instruments in Reaktor. I also am a music hobbyist and would love to build my own instruments for use in my productions.

In particular, I would like to build an SH-101 emulation for use and as a way of learning. After googling to see if there were any tutorials it seems there was one on here, but has since been taken down (the post I read dated back to 2006!).

Is there any way of accessing this tutorial as there doesn't seem to be a specific NI tutorial page anywhere.

    (link for ref: https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/sh101-reaktor-emulation-anywhere.40424/ )

    All the best,
    James

to be honest, all you have to do is google - building a synth in Reaktor.

once you learn how to build a synth, you can amend the structure so that it follows the structure of an SH101.

also has i said in the thread that you mention, there are a number of sh101 influenced/emulations in the Reaktor User Library:

Thought this might be the case! I've found the block diagram for a 101 out of the old manual so going to follow that.

    Cheers any way!

Hi , there is a sh101 vst made by Roland it's quite pricey but you can download the demo and use it for 10 mins before the sound cuts in and out ,
it may help you with building your synth .
Keep us posted how u get on

Look for an ensemble called SH-2k.ens - it is located in ->Library / Ensembles / Legacy Library / Library Reaktor 3 / Premium / Synths - Subtractive inside your Reaktor folder. Looking at the GUI, it resembles the SH101, might give you some insight by reverse engineering it.

SH-101 is a great starting project - I recommend not looking at the already built SH-101's in the UL. Build your own version! The block diagram in the SH-101 manual is also where I would start and then I would use the primary modules or core macros controlled by faders etc.

Put your questions here if you get stuck!
