Loop-Live-Capture with S4 in Traktor 2.5

Hi guys,

with the new 2.5 update i'm unable to live capture an active loop from deck B into one of the slots of deck D with my S4.

The old behaviour was: If a loop has been set to active for example in deck B, you were able to capture that loop by pressing one of the sample buttons from deck D. Traktor always captured deck B and never deck A. (regardless of whether a loop in deck A has been set or not)
The same with deck A and deck C.

Since i've installed the new 2.5 dpdate: When I'm running one track in deck A (without loop) and one track in deck B with an active loop, evey hit on one of deck D's sample buttons captures the next 4 beats of the running track A into the remix slot.

The only workaround to live capture from D into B is to drag the looping track with the mouse. :angry:

Anyone with the same issue?

Update: I think that there are problems with the deck focus. If there is no track loaded in deck A i receive an error message that tells me that there is no track loaded in the active deck
I already tried to change the "deck focus" option in the preferences to "Software" and focus deck B manually by clicking the deck header. Same result as above..

 

I have exactly the same problem. 2.5 basically ruined my sample decks for me as I don't really use the remix decks. I just want to be able to have the same functionality for my sample buttons as in previous Traktor versions

Maybe you should read the manual:
The new Remix Decks are assignable, from which Track Deck they capture. This happens in de Deck Details. You should assign Deck B as source for deck D.

Hi Bassfly, thanks for your response. I already solved half the problem with your response to dressman. Duh, I was looking under preferences all the time for the assignment of decks, when it was in the deck details. The thing is I only have a small screen, so always have remix decks on minimal size.

When you say "all three options", do you mean under Preferences Traktor Kontrol S4? there I have it on Auto. The Hotcue buttons I have on Legacy mode, but I have not yet been able to find out what the difference is to Remix Mode (and this time I did a thorough search of the manual...)

Okay, You're right, that it's now well decumented, what the remix mode is doing. I am also wondering and canÄt check it for now, buw NI said, that with the S4 you can jump through the remix sets. So a step further than the old sample decks.

Very annoying. This should be the default setting for Deck D in order to be backward-compatible with the old traktor versions. :angry:
