Loop machine missing

I can't find the looper. Will it be reintroduced at a later date?

yes indeed. The looper is missing.
I didn't used it so often 'cause GR5 is running in a DAW.
But for stand alone use it would be nice to have.

Yeah, we need the old loop back. But without the old hold mode, the looper could not be used.

 

We hear you! Don't want to promise a date, yet. But we acknowledge that the feature is important for many users. It will not be part of the free 6.1 update that we are currently working on. But we will consider it for one of the next updates. Until then we are happy to hear your thoughts on what features you expect from a looper. Preferably sorted by must-have and nice-to-have. Thank you for raising your voice on this.

For me the old functions were absolutely sufficient.
The important thing is the deep implementation of midi, which distinguished the old looper

I'd love it if it has the old functions and especially if it can load up the same file extensions as the old one. I have over 200 little loops that I've recorded over the 6 years I used GR5 and I'd like to be able to load them up still.

As an additional function, maybe make it kinda like a loop station, so you can load up multiple loop banks instead of using layers, so you can switch on and off specific loops instead of removing layers.

 

Thanks for addressing this. For me, must-have items would be record pan, undo, redo, sync with metronome, autostart, and all of the current save options. A nice-to-have thing would be some way of turning layers on and off.

 

I'm coming Guitar Rig 4, and the one issue I had with the looper in GR4 was with the 'overdub multiply' feature. Let's say I started with a 4 measure loop and I wanted to record a new layer to make it 8 measures. When I'm recording the 8 measure layer, if I stopped recording the layer even just a millisecond late, it would increase the whole loop to 12 measures. It would be nice if it was smart enough to realize I only want the loop to be 8 measures.

 

I just went through 2 days of trying to get the RigKontrol working after leaving win7 for 10. Which means i had to give up GR4 and the happiness it brings. So i was all in to move up to GR6 since it's Win10 only. I literally just got GR6 demo and Rigkontrol up and running with the help of Evildragon a few minutes ago. And now it's very disappointing to hear the Looper is not included. Seems strange to remove such a creative tool.

To me, the Looper is just as much a tool for creativity as the sounds them selves.

So how long do we have to wait? Months or weeks? The past 18 days with no guitar rig has sucked, not sure i can wait another month.

 

Maybe in addition to the legacy looper, I always thought it would be cool to have a simplified single button looper that could be dragged anywhere in the rack and you could have any number of them.
