Auto start and auto stop would me a must have .
Multiple loops you can add in your rack would be a nice feature

    Thanks

Seconding the need for a looper!

The base functionality of GR5 looper was OK.
    1. Tap A to record
    2. Tap A to stop recording and start looping
    3. Tap A to overdub
    4. Tap B to cancel last overdub
    5. Tap C to stop
    6. Tap D to reset
Maybe start with a basic 3/4 buttons looper, and then do another one (or upgrade it) with more possibilities :
    • crossfade
    • multiple tracks
    • midi sync
In 2020 it's a bit weird that we should still reassort to Pigtronix and throw 400 bucks out the window to do what a software could more easily achieve. I feel like the demand is really there but maybe I'm mistaken.

Proof the looper was promised. So I spent the money on the upgrade from 5. And it’s missing. Now, the word is that it won’t be included in the next “free 6.1 update”.

Ah, this is so disappointing - I just bought the upgrade SOLELY for loop machine. The website said it was included in GRP6. (I was finding it unstable in Pro Tools on GRP5 so I thought it was worth upgrading).

Question though: does anyone know of another looper out there that allows you to export individual layers of the loop separately??? If there’s another one out there, I would love to know. Thanks for your help!

I add my voice to all the GR community asking for the loop machine back in GR6. For me, is a fundamental component and I decided to update because the loop machine was in the list of GR6 features. So vey dissapoint to notice that it was missing. Good to know from the Native guys that they are planning to bring it back, looking forward to it.

Just asking again in case it got lost in thread: does anyone know of another plug-in looper that allows you to export the separate layers of the loops you make?

To me this is the killer feature of Loop Machine. If there's something else out there that does it, I would love to know. Thanks for your help!

MSuperLooper seems to have "export all loops as WAVs" according to the manual.

Thanks Jul! I'm going to check it out!

The question for me is whether the "Loops" in MSuperLooper function like "layers" in Loop Machine OR if they're more like separate tracks in Ableton Session view. Hopefully they're more like layers!

Just as a sugestion for Loop Machine in Guitar Rig 6.

If future update will include the Loop Machine again, please keep the recorded layers temporary folder as it was in Guitar Rig 5 (I mean to be stored on HDD, not on DAW buffer)

    C:\Users\<your windows user name>\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 5\Temp

In this way your loops lenght will not depends by buffer memory.

And also keep the loop length FREE as it was in GR 5.

Most of the software loopers save temporary takes on DAW buffer which is very limited.

One of the Guitar Rig 5 Loop Machine benefits was that you can record any length if you have enough free space on HDD, without depending by your buffer memory.

Thanks! Waiting for Loop Machine in GR 6!

Another request for Loop Machine. I use it all the time for ideas and multi tracking. Please don't change the export functions it was fine as it was.

And one more thing I'd just like to respectfully point out that it has been six months since the 1st posts of the missing loop machine in Guitar Rig 6. A half a year!? Please give an update of how much longer all of us have to wait. Thank you

It's not. Changelog always contains items that are in the update...

It's been way over half a year now with no updates on whether we will even get the looper back, let alone one with "better features".

My workflow has been totally ruined trying to find looper alternatives to the point where I returned to GR5. I'm really regretting upgrading to GR6...

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed. I wonder why they removed it. So they won't add it back unless there is enough demand - does this also mean we all have to rave about components we like incase they're suddenly removed?

It's also a bummer that the Guitar Rig Kontrol pedalboard was discontinued. I've now got everything working reasonably nicely with a customised FCB1010 MIDI footswitch, but it's less than ideal and to be honest, it feels like MIDI support in GR6 (especially program change) is barely working. I wouldn't be surprised if MIDI support was dropped entirely in future.

While I'm on the topic of being underwhelmed with NI, Maschine+ Standalone is really useless to me in that it can't do what my Maschine Mk2 can do: allow me to quickly work with a whole range of third-party software synths and effects. So I won't be upgrading.

Funnily enough, as much as making Maschine+ Standalone was a mistake, I think making a Guitar Rig standalone would be fantastic. Get all the presets working on the computer, then export to a standalone hardware pedal ("GuitarRig+" - you're welcome). All GR components are proprietary NI, so there's no chance of locking out third-party plugins as per Maschine+. There's an open source pedal that works along similar lines from MOD Devices called the DuoX (and Duo and Dwarf)... but it's still a work in progress, has a bunch of missing important features and I find it's not polished enough for stage use so it's just sitting in my cupboard unused.

The way things are going, my Maschine Mk2 will eventually become unsupported. Guitar Rig's MIDI support will go the way of the Looper. I'll switch to Ableton Live with Push, and hopefully the MOD DuoX will become stable enough to rely on.
