    Does anyone use pre-made loops?

Isn't that shameful? Do any known producers use them?

It looks like they are tied to certain BPMs, so does this mean they are useless outside of that BPM?

    I use pre-made loops everyday……..right after I make them:D

on a serious note though if you're not attributing your use to any particular art forms rules then I couldn't really give a fck about whether you use some pre made loops or not, there are a plethora of uses and all of them valid. What really matters is if it's for you or not.

Totally agree. If you're ok with it, you can do whatever you want.
Ever heard the song Sonnentanz by Klangkarussel?
The whole Song was constructed using pre-made loops from the NuJazz City Samplepack.
Yes, they had to face a little shitstorm after this went public, but it still has been a No. 1 Chart hit in a lot of countries, sold a quadrillion times, and their first record still sells like warm pretzels.

I believe it's not the sample pack that brought this song on top of the charts, it's the artists creativity.
Even if they used pre-made loops. Might've been easier, but doesn't make the song less awesome

OK, so are the loops only usable at a one BPM?

(too fast or slow BPM and the loop wont fit)

Why don't you just try it? If you try to use a couple of loops with different BPM, they will sound weird. But maybe this sound is exactly what you want to achieve ... it all depends.

No, I don't want an out of sync sound, so I guess the loops are limited to one BPM, useless I suppose.

I have limited time to use the Maschine. I do research while I am away from it. Not good for practice obviously.

I don't really use a lot of loops other than the ones I make myself. However I do use old break loops and at the end of the day it's pretty much the same thing. So if it works go for it. it would be nice if you change it around, chop it etc. to make your own thing but that is really up to you and how comfortable you feel about using pre-made loops.

Not limited to one BPM IMHO. I think it depends on how the time signature and BPM are split up a 40 into a 80 or a 80 into a 120 sometimes works. What I like a about loops is learning, using the apple loops and the logic pro x apple trying book I am learning how to use Logic much better then I ever did. I also like that my so as young as 2 years old was able to drag and drop loops and have some fun with them. I am no pro! I just enjoy learning and creating and in my learning other then how to use logic better, I am trying to avoid loops at all cost to make my own creativity grow. Did any of this make any sense at all! What the heck it works for me, in the end that is a big part of what matters!

Plenty of people do, I'm sure. Especially when starting up. DJs do all the time too. ;)

Depends what you do with them and what the purpose is. What's shameful is to pass of someone else's work as your own. But that goes for any kind of work, not just music.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they did. Certainly for certain more generic productions. But the best producers and the best tracks will usually do something special and interesting with those pre-made loops i.e., so they're not just using someone else's work.

They are static samples that were originally recorded at a tempo, just like any piece of recorded music. However, technology does allow stretching of that timing... Even in Maschine. ;)

    no, they are not.

premade loops are either tagged with the tempo, in which case you can easily stretch them manually to fit, or their tempo is embedded (i think this started with ACID loops..but not sure) and they will automatically scale when imported...

    just not in Maschine.

and if you want the opinion of people, suggest you dont thumb down their replies... just sayin..lol

It's no different then sampling. And don't like the tempo? Time stretch. Pitching will also change the tempo.

I use loops. I change start/end points, pitch, reverse etc...
I use premade loops without shame, but i screw them & don't use as they are.
