I think he's having the same issue as stated in this thread:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94062

If the buzzing sound is really loud, then it's probably this issue. I had it happen to me two times (since 1.2.1) with the Audio 8 DJ while listening to winAmp or YouTube. Traktor wasn't even running.

Over the months, we progressed from clicks and pops in the audio, to temporary audio dropouts, to GUI freeze, to REALLY LOUD buzzing noise. I wonder what is going to come next... electrocution from your gear?

OK I just Got off the phone with tech support. And they are aware that the New Mac Book Pros when going into sleep mode dose something with the driver and caus'es a main out distortion and a restart is needed for it to go away. FIX for the problem is not being addressed.. So when Djing make sure you do a restart before going on .. and dont leave the computer un touched while spinning make sure you dont go into sleep mode on a long song Ha ha ha..
All seriousness It pretty bad that they are aware and no fix will be addressed for this. Exact words were do a restart before going on, or revert back to an older version. All you'll need to do is a tsi. mapping over. That wasnt the anwser I was looking for..

If you don't want your computer to go to sleep if left unattended but don't want to modify your power settings, then try installing Caffeine - free and works even on Snow Leopard.

Umm... when DJing, you don't want your computer going to sleep, period. When computer goes to sleep, it is as good as "shut down"; the music stops.

I hear ya I dont want that. but alot of times you set up hrs before going on, then going back to listen to a few tracks in your headphones, I dont like having my play list up for inspection. if u know what i mean.. Your only good as the music you spin. Your hidden Bombs make who u are. I'm just bitchin caus it worked before 1.2.1 now Blah..Ok I'll just have to leave it outa sleep mode when I spin. and close the cover .. Looks so nice with the lite up Apple :(
$2500 computer and my $300 acer runs better .. no not really LOL.

Tech support would likely have had no idea, this program being free is simply spreading by word of mouth. Hope it helps as a workaround if not a fix.

I think that the problem started when OSX 10.5.8 (or might even have be OSX 10.5.6) came out. I vaguely remember experiencing this sometimes before 1.2.1 - but it might be that my memory serves me wrong. I think that previously it didn't happen as frequently as it does now.

The reason you might be pointing a finger at 1.2.1 might be that the releases of 10.5.8 and 1.2.1 were so close together there was only a couple of weeks between the releases... but, as said, I'm just guessing.

I've solved this by set up my computer to ask password when returning from screen saver. Traktor still responds to timecode and MIDI while the screen saver is active - and what's best is that the sound doesn't stop.

I personally use InsomniaX to stop my Mac from going to sleep when I close the lid. I believe the program is quite a similar to Caffeine, though I don't have experience of that one.

InsomniaX does that. Must say that it's definitely a lifesaver on some gigs (mainly those where there are more DJs playing than just myself).

New Mac Driver that solves this problem , Driver 2.3.14 will be released next week or a little later.

I would also like to say that despite users succesfully using Snow Leopard it still isnt Supported. So if your gonna use an OS that isnt supported due to Hardware issues then dont be surprised when you get problems with it.

What the hell point is there putting together a great DJ system only to take a punt on a new buggy OS when the previous one (10.5) works perfectly well.

To clarify this is not a Traktor 1.2.1 issue. It is a Snow Leopard issue so anyone having this buzzing problem has walked into it themselves.
NI have clearly stated that users should hold off on Snow until NI support it and 3rd party Hardware has been tested.

I can ascertain that the same problem exists on 10.5.8 also, so this "driver corruption after sleep mode results in distorted sound" is not a "Snow Leopard -only"-type of problem.

As has been described in this thread, it doesn't happen "spontaneously" (since the laptop is not supposed to go to sleep mid-gig), needs specific conditions, and has a easy fix (reboot). It is a good thing to know that a driver fix is coming, though.

    Thats because you are pretty.

So maybe a Driver issue , maybe a Mac issue but anecdotal evidence that its not a Traktor issue.

These new drivers fix the distortion issues on Snow Leopard with 4+ GB.
If the Sleep mode problem is universal to Leopard and Snow Leopard it only seems to be reported by those using SL. If im wrong then thats fine but i work with other DJs and always close the lid when im not playing and its fine when i open it (10.5.8) YMMV

Ok done some digging and this IS caused by driver handling by Unibody Macbook Pros and affects Leopard and Snow Leopard. *hold my hand up, its not just SL*

Seems to me to be more prevalent with the newest Unibody series which might be some people have the issue and others dont.

Fixed with the new driver that will be available "soon"

And to pre-empt the goofball that asks "no date for the driver as yet"
