Low Headphone Volume on S4 MK II, Need headphone PreAmp suggestion

I've been using my new S4 for a few months now and have tried everything that has been said on this forum. I cannot get the volume to come out as loud and clear as I need to mix and preview tracks. It forces me to hit that sync button, and although it allows for some creativity with sync, I still prefer to beatmatch with my ear and ride that pitch

I moved over from my Urei setup because of the convenience the S4 allows. If anyone is familiar with the Urei 1620, they have one of the best internal amps for the headphones, better than any Pio or A&H mixers.

Can anyone recommend a good pre amp that I can plug into the headphone jack? Thanks! View attachment 40409 View attachment 40409 View attachment 40409

Double check the CUE volume in Traktor first by using Mixer View and it's in the lower right corner. It should at least be in the default 2o'clock position for decent volume. Tge software knob is independent of the hardware knob on the S4 itself.

Thanks tmccoy - I double checked that, still not loud enough, there's no thump coming out of the lone headphone...

man you're gonna blow your ears out.

i would suggest getting some headphones with nice sound isolation to block out other noises. before trying to turn it even louder.

you're ears will thank you in a few years. because once you're on that *i gotta turn up the gain to hear*, you'll always wanna keep turning it up, cuz ur ears get worse and worse.

invest in those custom in ears headphones or hella good isolation over ears ones, and learn to Cue songs in lower volume. you're hearing is too valuable to be keep turning up the gain.
