I love my Maschine but, I also have BPM. As hard as it is to understand what B-Righteous is saying, HE'S RIGHT! The NI samples are VERY DIGITAL and COLD, while on the other hand the BPM samples are very warm, creamy, thick, mastered and pierce through a mix. Unless you've heard BPM or have tried out a friends it's hard to explain the difference on a forum website. The attraction to the sound of either NI or BPM is probably based on the genre of music you are producing. NI is more for TRANCE, AMBIENT and DANCE oriented producers. The BPM samples were MASTERED by PROFESSIONAL HIP-HOP ENGINEERS! The samples are ready for a record RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! That's the HONEST TO GOD TRUTH! I have tried to put PSP vintage warmers on the NI samples just like everyone else. There was no substantive difference. On the other hand I have put NI synthetic drums through MASCNINE and through BPM. When played through BPM SONICALLY I sound like DR. DRE! It's hard to believe the difference until you EXPERIENCE it. I know people will say that it's PSYCHO-SEMATIC-ACOUSTICAL rubbish but it's not MENTAL. I don't work for MOTU! I own a MASCHINE and wouldn't part with it regardless of no MIDI-OUT but the BPM samples are SONICALLY BETTER. Check out the FORUMS about music production and you will see a lot of people agree. Now, BPM has a lot of problems with MIDI cc's ect but the samples are excellent! Don't BOO me you guys I'M STILL DOWN WITH THE MASCHINE (just look at my name) The goal here is to enlighten the community before you spend your hard earned money! BPM samplez and MASCHINE CONTROLLER a match made in HIP-HOP heaven!

Hey eban, You can't extract the samplez from MOTU's proprietary format WHICH CAN'T BE BROKEN (like itunes videos and songs!)! The samplez are 24 bit and mastered to taste. I have tried to re-record them but the SHINE or FLAVOR is missing in the TRANSLATION, even at 24 bit recording. Everyone has been trying to figure out how (MOTU) has done it! I hope they just release the samplez apart from the SOFTWARE ENGINE, but the sound of BPM is related to the SOFTWARE somehow. Thanks for the reply anyways!

This I don't understand. Sure you must be able to record BPM's output to capture that nice sound. If not, then what's the use of a great sounding instrument when you can't record that great sound?

if you can't extract the MOTU samples, use the maschine samples, then we can see if it's really depending on the
Sampler or on the samples itself. if
It's like you described the magic of BPM, it should turn them better also.

Mr. MuhSheen is ABSOLUTELY correct. I just got Maschine 3 days ago and have had BPM for 3 weeks. The sounds in BPM are more "polished" then in Maschine. But dont mistake for a minute that I am downing Maschine. I can tell you this... Maschine is literally the BEST thing i have bought in YEARS. I produce hip hop and club music and sample quite a bit. I almost cried at how fast and easy it is to sample. (except for the occasional "sample bug" where it says no file after sampling). I have owned all the MPC series and also the MV8000 and the MC-808 along with LOGIC CUBASE PRO-TOOLS... etc... and Mashine inspires me more than ALL. Definite Pro machine and I dont mess with novice ****.

NOW..to get the BPM sounds into Maschine is really quite easy.... I load BPM into a mixer channel in FL-Studio then Load Maschine into the slot in the mixer channel AFTER BPM. The i just tap the 16 pads of bpm and maschine records them. Save as kit... then keep it moving to the next. Once i get my BPM sounds into Maschine its like a double power house. Also Maschines sounds are HOT ..so its the best of both worlds.

if you want to check me out on youtube ... hit the link below.. its me on the MV8000 chopping samples (which with maschine i could have dib it in half the time) .. and then in a week i will have one of me on maschine...

its not the samples . its the audio-sound from native instrument
but maschine-sound is much better than battery etc. i feel maschine is most warmer as ohter drumlibrarys. you take your own samples and compare it with other drumsoftware. guru battery lm4 etc.
