No place to comment on first track listing. Mix is nice but nothing else makes me want to keep listening.

just not moved by either of these two tracks personally. And that is just my opinion, so please carry on. I know you have some great stuff which I have given my point of views on, but this is back stepping.

I think you have a very unique style, your tracks are "spacey" and glitchy, but....they are way too long imo. I can't keep my ear interested. If you took the best of both tracks and condensed them down into say 3.5 mins or less with the best parts with some interesting transitions, then you might have something. But in all honesty, I don't listen to 7 minute tracks anymore and if I do its either a mix (which these aren't) or its something legendary (which these aren't). As stated, however, please keep at it....and have fun...don't stress yourself over it. :)

I like the sound of your mixes, well done! I like the 2nd track(metroit) better than the 1st. I don't like the glitch stuff, but thats a matter of taste. Which techno labels do you listen to? do you know kanzleramt?

That's the way Fusion always works, you have your main melody, your chorus and then a bridge or turnaround followed by improvisations over the melody, chorus; by each soloist. yeah, it's not like a three and a half minute song in the modern genre, that consists of Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, turnaround or bridge, very short improv and chorus to the end or a variation of this format. On the fusion instrumental tracks I don't use vocals so this formula would not work. But listen to Chic Corea, or Mike Stern or any other fusion/Jazz/rock stuff and you will rarely see a three or four minute song, no time for development in that genre.

So you like that I have a unique style, but your suggestion is to turn it into more of a cliche EDM type thing with lots of cool transitions?
No disrespect, but that makes no sense. I'm not trying to make EDM songs for the short attention-span crowd. Bleachbit has already been condensed a bit, and I made a breakbeat remix that's going up shortly. Some of my other listeners thought it was too conventional and safe, lol..
    Thanks for checking anyway.

Thanks. Mixing was my major weak point for a long time, so it's good to know people like the sound now.
Metroit hasn't actually been mixed yet, just mashed it together in a couple of hours ;) I still need to decide what I'm gonna do with it.

I've been getting back into glitchy sounds lately. Been playing a lot of Apparat's earlier stuff lately, but mainly because it's a lot of fun to do with Maschine. I'll probably get bored of it again at some point ;)

Yep, definitely know Kanzleramt. I like all kinds of techno, from Drumcode to old Detroit stuff to more experimental things. I'm listening to Lakker a lot now, and love everything R&S Records is doing atm.

    EDIT: here's the break mix:

No....I didn't mention anything about EDM and please don't make these into EDM - I truly enjoy the style you have going here. However, I had trouble staying interested and found myself skipping forward to the different parts of each track, so I simply suggested condensing the content of each. BY doing that, you would need seamless transitions. But after another listen, I realize (like VV said) that may be difficult in order for you to reach the full development or climax of what you are going for in each track....so please just continue and ignore me ;)

Haha, no worries man. I actually did follow your advice a little bit. The version up now is a good 2 minutes shorter than it was. Everything I post is always a work in progress and tracks can change pretty drastically since I'm always remixing myself.

I apologize, I am not hip to the EDM or off shoots of that genre. I have only started listening and completing them in the last year of so. Sorry, I'm not an expert in the genre and am still willing to learn. i just came out of many genres that were completely different but the thing or a thing of the time. Listening to many more in this genre even though it may already be in the past, but hoping that I can catch on to some of it. You grew up listening to this genre and understand much more than me. So please, understand we come from two different worlds that never met.

No hard feelings, Vincent. I get fierce when I defend my stuff as I hope you would when it comes to yours, but it's nothing personal. I come from more of a film background so I'm used to working together with other mouthy types and have fierce debates over what makes the cut or not. I enjoy that, but I noticed that in the music world people are bit more reserved.

Haha, I get that. I've been there. But actually, it's EDM that's the offshoot. That term's only really been in use since 2010-2011 when dance music (finally) exploded in the US. It's not related to what I do, that would be comparing Queen to Slayer because they both use guitars and amps ;)
I like electronic music that's uniquely electronic, and I like that it isn't pop or rock: it doesn't come with a pre-packaged consumerist image, I don't need a specific leather jacket or do my hair a certain way. I don't have to have a message, it's just sound. At the same time it's not anti-commercial either, it's not like punk and we're rebelling against something.

If you want to learn more about electronic music, you have to trace the history.. because looking at it from the angle of bigger genres and smaller sub-genres will just get really confusing. If you follow the timelines it's easier to see how things develop and influence each other, plus they're interesting stories. Anyway, my style is really a blend of everything I've listened to over the years: techno, dubstep, garage, jungle, dub, hiphop (the old stuff)... all stuff that rarely made it to the mainstream because it doesn't really have to. A lot of the best jungle wasn't even released, it was just cut to dubplates for DJ's to play.

This is a pretty cool and original rundown of where my (part of) my style comes from. It's a long read but well worth it, I hope the examples he links to are still available:

I'm the same way. It's like your a chef, serving up your favorite recipes. One of them may be sushi, But there is someone who does not care for it. That will not make me stop making it. I take no offense to criticism, It's just what I do, Some will like my meatloaf and others will like my sushi, Either way That's just what I do, not who I am.

Yeah I think if you're not putting things out there you're willing to get behind and defend, they're probably not worth it. At the same time, if you're not willing to take on board criticism and ideas from others then your working in a creative vacuum. It's always a balance.

In any case, Metroit is now updated.. better mix, better structure, more crazy guys at the ending.
    WARNING: explicit language!!!

I enjoyed Bleachbit. When the break kicks in at 4:14 man it gets dope. Overall it was interesting, refreshing compared to what passes as good music these days. Definitely hear the techno influence (which is a good thing).

I just got back from the ASCAP Expo and I can tell you, even the billboard top charters have very different opinions on what it takes to become successful. In the end, you have to do what you do, forget about labels of genre and hope you have the opportunity to showcase your work and even then, no guarantees. Right place, right time, right ear, right preparation, and bam........$$$$$$$$$$$
