:S I was going to buy pro mac laptop because I thought it was super reliable.
I have even accepted the fact that this laptop was well over priced and the fact that I am going to be simply ripped off.

WTF? Now I have no idea what to do.

I need some reliable laptop which will not crash in the middle of the set, which will not freez and pops and f..ck know what else. I was under impersion that pro mac will provide me with peace of mind. I am going to use it mostly with Traktor and S4 but I am planning to use the same laptop for ableton and Akai MPK 25 and some bigger keybord.

    :(

AFAIK this freeze issue only occurs if the cpu and gpu are stressed to the max for about half an hour, soo ... it will never be an issue for traktor users, maybe when using traktor AND live AND maschine AND a VJ soft like Modul8 simultaniously.

Also it seems that this was fixed yesterday with the 10.6.7 patch

That's not what we're led to believe from the article?

Good thing that my April 2010 MBP can handle any amount of workload and abuse. I can play games for a whole day straight with fans on full speed, without any lockups.

I to was going to buy a new 15" Macbook pro but this news has definitely put me off.

I'm currently using a late 2009 macbook pro 13" 2.26 with 4gb ram and i have no end of problems with it. The screen freezes when loading tracks, youtube vids freeze and i even get sound drop outs when i turn the effects on using my Kontrol x1. The problem is i have done hardware tests and nothing shows up, and as i cant prove the issue apple cant do anything about it :(
