Under the Options tab there is a section called processor performance. Select Highest from the list.

This menu is not availeble in leopard and therfore my MacBook is in SpeedStep mode.

So my NI software is running at half the speed it should considering the CPU i have in my MacBook Unibody....

    Sugestions?

I contacted Apple support on the fact that the same macbook unibody runs Reaktor 5 twice as fast under Bootcamp XP than under leopard. I Also told them that this is a SpeedStep issue.

Apple: Our software runs at the desired speed. We are not responsible for the speed that 3rd party software runs.

    any clue?

    From wikipedia

Mac OS also has SpeedStep built into the kernel, since the release of the Intel version of Mac OS X 10.4 and is already enabled. It cannot be controlled in the System Preference "Energy Saver." To disable this feature, and set a specific clock speed (full speed or reduced) requires a third party application, such as coolbook

    Maybe worth a try.

    Cheers

I have to correct myself here. Ableton does not have this problem.

So Ableton Live as a host for Reaktor solves it completly. Here i can have the same amounth of reaktor instances running Space drone open on the mac as on the pc...

    Good to know right ;-)

Normally I leave Reaktor at 44100 for sample rate but today I used a higher sample rate and encountered a problem. I was able to convert up just fine, however, when I was done and wanted to return to 44100 reaktor would crash. On reopening Reaktor it would force me to change the sample rate to up agian. It took me an hour to get things back to normal. Even then I still have trouble as Reaktor would just produce noise from the outputs in anything was sent out. I have it workijng now but I really have no idea what happened it wasn't good.
