    Hi all,

I'm new here to Reaktor. I am wondering if anyone has had an issue with a beeping oscillation (in the left or right channel) when running R5 on a OS X (10.3.9) Powerbook. I have emailed Tech support and they confirm this is a known CPU issue on Mac Laptops.

So, anyone have any work arounds on this? I tried resetting the energy saver processor prefs to reduced and still was getting the OSC sound.

    Thanks

to clarify...if you load up a new ensemble (and empty one) you get a "Beeping Oscillator sound" yes?

or does this happen when you have loaded up an ensemble?

if so, what ensemble? does it happen with all ensembles?

are you using the stereo mini jack (headphone) output from your powerbook?

what is your output latency? (look under system ->audio+midi settings, in the the Reaktor tool bar).

    thanks

    Thanks

you might find that 7 ms is low for certain ensembles.

I am not to worried about the latency on my laptop fror the moment... but thanks for letting me know. But hey, if there are any issues you know, I wouldn't mind knowing too. I ultimately may use my laptop for a live performance at some point.

Besides that, I am trying to keep things simple and learn how to do his core building stuff. I am coming from a background using a Kurzwiel K2000 and have stretched that machine to its limit. I see a few similarities in some of the launguage but find Reaktor very facinating. I have been waiting for something like this to ram my guitar (and other intruments) through. I am also running Pro Tools M powered, Live 4 lite, Reason Adapted lite.
